Eylea

Hi everyone. I have the eyelea injections in both eyes, it is often painful for 3-4 days after and i always have bloodshot eyes. My question is, when should i return to work after these injections? I work in an acute mental health unit where there is risk of aggression and violence ?

A renowned retinal specialist based in the US, Dr Kenneth Fan will join us this month to discuss the increased dose of licensed drug Eylea (aflibercept) to treat wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular oedema.

I have been having Eylea injections into both eyes for the past six years (approx. 60 in all) for macular degeneration and my eyesight has been very well preserved. I am due to get both eyes injected on Thursday and I am not sure how safe this is with the raised platelets.

Such as: Eylea, for wet age-related macular degeneration Praluent, for high cholesterol Dupixent, for atopic dermatitis Libtayo, for skin cancer Regen-cov, for covid-19 They have a robust research pipeline with one branch focused on liver disease.

During the last six years I have been having Eylea injections for macular degeneration in both eyes (somewhere about 60 injections altogether). My eyeslght has been well maintained on this as I can still read (with slight difficulty) down to the bottom of the chart.

Anyway he changed me to Vabysmo from Eylea because apparently he said had stopped working. I had to have an injection straight away because of the fluid. Does anyone know why a blocked blood vein needs monitoring. I forgot to ask the consultant.

I have wet AMD in both eyes, and have been been receiving shots for same for many years - currently Eylea. I have recently seen a cardiologist who wants to put me on a BP med, Losartan. I am concerned that BP meds such as Losartan might worsen AMD. Any thoughts?

We are confused if his Anti VEGF injection should be Eylea or Vabysmo? we are not in a position to take any risk yet any vision improvement is a big plus for us. Any advise would be really appreciated. Thank you. Warm Regards, Vik

Since then, on 60mg Edoxaban, 2.5mg Bisoprolol fumerate, 20mg Lisinopril, and 4 weekly injections of Eylea into my eye. All has been ticking over fine.

Hi all I have had injections monthly since 2011 for DMO I had Avastin then Lucentis and then since 2016 Eylea. Last Saturday I was switched to Faricimab it’s def thicker than Eylea.

For years I was receiving shots of Eylea by a doctor that I trusted completely. About 3 years ago I moved and it was just too far to travel to continue seeing this great doctor. I then continued Eylea injections with a new Retina man.

I also take Edoxaban 60mg and 2.5 bisoprolol fumerate as I had an episode of AF in 2017, I have an Eylea injection each month for a BRVO, Letrozole anti-hormone tab to help prevent very early breast cancer recurrence,(since 2021) as well as 20mg Lisinopril, Simvastatin and potassium sparing diruretic

I have been taking Avastin for 4 months with no improvement, my doctor is switching to Eylea. If you are taking Eylea, what has your experience been?

After my last Eylea shot 3 weeks ago in my right eye, I experienced double vision and the Dr. had to insert a needle to withdraw some of the fluid. I have been getting shots for about 6 years and also have glaucoma. I have gone blind a couple of times after shots, but never had double vision.

Hi Everyone, I will be traveling to Scotland and Ireland in a couple of months and I too have both wet and dry AMD, I have been getting Eylea shots for the last 4 1/2 yrs. and wanted to know if I have a problem while visiting where would I go for care and should I take out insurance while I’m traveling

BRVO is treated with an injection of Eylea into the eye every four weeks, and has stabilised but not reversed, but I'm told does not develop into macular degeneration. However,I have not seen a cardiologist in all that time-should I have done?

I am new here but have suffered from wet AMD since January 2021 and have had several injections of Eylea in both eyes since. I am currently stable and on an 8 week re-check each time.

I may have to have a course of antibiotics from my dentist at the same time or close to an Eylea injection. Is this OK or can they affect each other? Should there be a time space between? Many thanks in advance

I have Wet AMD in both eyes and been getting Eylea inections for about 6 years now. Started when I was 62. I also noticed in the last few months that I am seeing wavy lines in that eye also so it seems the Eylea is not working as well. I am hoping to change to Vabysmo.
