I have been getting monthly injections of Eylea for the past 5 years. My retina doctor is going to switch me to Vabysmo. I am hoping to hear from you that have been using this. Any differences in the injections, has it help lengthened the weeks in between each shot? Has your vision been stablilized, along with reducing the swelling?

Vabysmo

Hi Thisisapain. Yes, I was having Eylea for four years mostly every four weeks except for when Covid appeared but it wasn't controlling the fluid that much. It was decided that I should change to Vabysmo at the end of 2022 and I seemed to be getting on very well in that it was controlling almost all the fluid. A few months ago though, the fluid seemed to be increasing again so my appointments went back to six weeks and then five weeks but at my last injection a couple of weeks ago, the fluid had reduced again to just a tiny amount so I am back now to a seven-week appointment to see how that goes. There is no difference in the injections, it's exactly the same as having Eylea but I have to say that it has improved my vision. The only downside for me (and I know we are not all the same) is that it does make my eye drier than the Eylea used to but I have just upped my dry-eye drops and that seems to control it. Hope you get on well with it.
I switched about 8 months ago ( three years with eyelea) I haven't been able to a stretch more than 6 weeks. My hope was to get to 10 weeks! Best of luck.
Switched about 2 years ago. Didn't notice any significant difference in time or effects.
They started me out on Eylea and it was fine. Just last month they switched me to Vabysmo and I did notice that my sight became clearer. It seems like the fluid is reduced a little bit quicker with Vabysmo but I will wait and see if it continues that way. I have a scotoma in my right eye that was really bad when I first started treatment but now it is fading and I am adjusting and getting used to the changes. I read an eye chart everyday and I must say, that since I started the treatments for wet AMD I can read 20/20 with my good eye and almost 20/20 with my bad eye. I started at 20/80 in my bad eye so things are going well. I did a lot of research on Vabysmo and it looks like they have improved the Eylea shot with this new product. So far, so good, and every improvement I can get is a blessing. Good luck with your progress and just know, we are all in this together! Any info is appreciated.
I was on Elyea for many years. Retina Doc switched me to Vabysmo and it worked a little better (reduced "fluid"), but after 6 injections got eye ifection/inflamation and was switched back to Eylea. Never had that prob with Eylea. You must realize that injections slow down progression of wet/AMD, but there is no cure. If you have one good eye, do you best to save it (eye diet & AREDS2). The good eye will always over compensate for the bad and your overall sight will be saved. Saving your good eye, if you have one, is up to you ! !
