Hi Mymonkey333. Have they advised you to increase to the stronger dose?
hi there it would really depend on a few things for example your eye pressure would be importer to take into consideration as one of the factors as the Eylea 8mg can increase your eye pressure. Also perhaps important would be the thickness of your cornea as if it is normal all is well if I’d it was on the thin side then measurements for eye pressure would be lower than they actually are. I have DMO not AMD and have had Eylea monthly since 2016 I can’t have the 8mg as I also have glauxoma too. I wish you well
When you say that the injections don't seem to work, what are the symptoms? Is your sight getting poorer?
Have you had cataract surgery? If you haven't and your prescription frequently changes, it may be that cataracts are more of a problem than the AMD.
Best wishes,
Paul
Hi Paul in right eye the near sight vision is getting poorer making work on the computer difficult I have to increase the point size, I have had cataracts surgery on both eyes. The problem is having injections on the NHS you are never given enough info. On my next appointment in few wks I will be more forceful and get some answers! I will keep in touch. Regards.
I'm glad to hear that you have had your cataracts removed - that eliminates any sight issues due to cataracts. But you note that your right eye near sight is getting poorer, which perhaps implies that your distance vision in that eye is still good - is that correct?
If you know your reading prescription, one way to check whether it's still strong enough for you would be to buy some cheap reading glasses of 0.5 and 1 diopter stronger than your current prescription and see if they are better than your specs. The other way is to have an eye test at a High Street optician!
Best wishes,
Paul
Yes will try eye test and new glasses at High Street.
Are you an optician ? you seem to know a lot about eyes..
Will keep in touch thanks
No, I'm not an optician, but I've learned a lot after first developing AMD 14 years ago!
Hello what eye drops do you use and how often do you have Eylea injections? I was so tired of having blurred vision again that I looked at my results from Vision Express where a really clever girl sent a report to my GP saying that I should have laser treatment which the Eye Clinic ignored referring that she was not well informed enough! So I challenged the Eye Clinic and took the letter with me and being a strong minded person managed to see a Consultant from the Nuffield Clinic who I knew from years ago who works for the NHS just 1 day per week to perform the laser treatment on both eyes last Friday and the result was amazing! I can now see to read and use my computer without glasses ! Success ! The NHS do not pay enough attention or listen to people of my age and feel that they are disposable ...Do you have any problems as I do I not know your age but at least you try to find out yourself. Perhaps you could adopt my attitude and get some results !
I am in the fight and not flight mode now!
Good luck!
Let me know
