Because of the danger of bradycardia posed by Timolol, my new ophthalmologist, who now gives me my Eylea shots for AMD, prescribed Latanoprost eye drops instead for my glaucoma. These drops are used once a day at bed time. After only 2 days of trying them I have been experiencing blurry vision, extreme sensitivity to light, and eye pain, especially in the mornings, which I attribute to the new drops. So, I am discontinuing them, and going back to Timolol. Has anyone else tried Laranoprost drops?

Hello Jihm,
I too have Eyelea injections, and have been on Latanoprost for a few months, as yet i have not experienced the problems you mention, but will be interested in hearing from others. Best wishes.
Been on Latanaprost for at least 4 years also brinzolomide no problems tried Timolol but couldn’t take them also one or two others because of side effects
Hi Jihm. I had Latanoprost after my retinal op a couple of years ago but I didn't experience the side effects that you have.
Hello Jihm,
Have you reported the problems experienced to your ophthalmologist? You can phone them via their secretary. It is important to do so.

Sorry, Rosalyn. Somehow I missed your reply. I am in the US. The particular ophthalmologist who gave me my last Eylea shots, and gave me the Latanoprost prescription is not actually reachable. The facility where I get my shots saw 360 patients just as of 3 PM that day. It is 60 miles away. It is a "mad house" down there (jammed with patients). The only other one in this state is 160 miles away. Fortunately I can at least see an ordinary eye doctor here locally.
Latanoprost was the first eye drop I was put on in 2012 and still use it mixed with another drop called Rocklatan. When I use Latanoprost alone, never had a problem but Rocklatan gives me red teary eyes but has lowered my IOP. I also use Timolol in the morning as well as Dorzolamide. I also get injections in both of my eyes for wet AMD . Just learned to live with it as it’s a lifetime medication for me.
I have used latanoprost eye drops for years with no problems. I’m not familiar with the drop you use. It’s not easy to find what works best. All the best.
I use monoprost, which doesn’t cause any problems.
Hello.I've been on Latanprost for around 7 years with no problems. Also brinzolamide last couple of years - they do sting sometimes. I'm also on eyeaze for dry eyes 6/7 times a day. I do find sometimes the Latanprost can sting a bit so I use the eyeaze 15 mins before as advised by my consultant. I would definitely report this . Hope it gets better soon.
Hi Jihm, Sorry to hear of your problems. I have been taking Latanaprost near bedtime in both eyes for about 7 years. Had gotten about 30 or so injections of regular eyelea but switched to vabysmo last year just to see if any improvement. Not much difference. May switch to HD eyelea just to see if any significant change. No problems either way, minor things like stuffy/runny nose...big deal, huh? Luckily I have had 2 Drs. for my AMD, both excellent. Only suggestion: ask your Doc to flush injected eye WELL. Good luck!
Thanks. I now understand from the many comments that most people can use Latanaprost with no annoying side effects. However, I cannot. So I have carefully gone back to using Timolol along with Dorzolimide and Bromonadine. Pardon me if I did not spell those correctly; I just got up here in the American Southwest.
I’ve been on two sets of drops every day for about 7 years., whike having Avastin injections
I take dorzolamide/timolol morning and night and latanoprost at night.
I’ve not noticed any particular reaction to the latanoprost, but I do take them very last thing so wouldn’t notice any immediate reaction. I get stinging and blurring for a few minutes after the morning drops but that clears rapidly. The only persistent side effect is occasional irritation at the back of the nose but Sterimar (salt water nasal spray) fixes that., and I’m pretty sure it’s the dorzolamide/timolol
I think you should contact the prescriber, see if they have encountered this before. Some people can also react to the preservatives in drops, perhaps check if they are different.
