Tales of anxiety, depression and life and work
At this particular point in time I am writing this as my first ever blog from the comfort of my sofa. I should be at work as a manager of an occupational health service whose life's work is focused on the health and wellbeing of the organisation I work for. Unfortunately, I have crippling work related

Careful with that Axe Eugene
Today I could do with somebody with an axe to come along and chop my head off, most of my bothersome tics are from the neck up, excluding the coprolalia, which doesn’t really bother me that much but does have the potential to get me into trouble. Vocally there’s a load of snorts and sniffs and the “cluck

Happy House
I’m feeling quite delicate today, I’m being bothered by sounds today – Pete tidying, which is good, but not now, me typing this and my neighbour’s car alarm. This particular car alarm is the bane of the close, well you know how annoying it can be, in my mind I’m Basil Fawlty hitting the car with a branch

3rd night on sleeping tablets and it's not going so well!
Hi Everyone. Like many of you, I can't remember the last time I actually had a decent night sleep. I decided to ask my GP for something to help me sleep to break the vicious circle of fatigue, pain and low moods. He agreed that a short course of tablets would be a good thing to try and prescribed

Lullaby
I’m so, so tired. I’m tired to the point of tears. I look like the girl from the “Exorcist”, I feel like the girl from the “Exorcist”. Nothing seems to work, I’m starting a new voluntary job tomorrow and I need to get to Birmingham for 10am, that’s going to be tough considering I didn’t get to sleep

Louder than Bombs
Shhhhh….my head hurts, I’ve taken some paracetamol, but that isn’t working, everything smells bad, particularly outside, it smells like one of the local farmers has been muck spreading, but he hasn’t, so a walk to the shop didn’t help, Pete hovering on my return certainly didn’t help, in go the ear plugs

going to GP tomorrow - question about insomnia
My insomnia is off the scale for Lupus, psoriatic arthropathy, hughes syndrome, sjgroens and hypothyrodism. So.... have read that sometimes a muscle relaxant is prescribed for sleep. Any ideas, I do have the name of one... I really don't want anything like zopiclone, which makes me feel edgey and chew

How do you do it?
Sleep that is For me whenever I flare it means little or no sleep. I take amytriptiline and at times like this doctor gives me zopiclone sleeping pills but tells me to try not and take them every nite. So last nite I took one and got about 4 hours and tonight well this morning now I have been in bed
