Looking for advice on next steps...
Hello, I am looking for opinions about what to do next. Here's my situation: I had focal laser ablation in 2017 after having been diagnosed with Gleason 3+4. My pre-op PSA was 6.6. The ERG and PTEN test was low risk. About 1/4 of my prostate was ablated and the remainder of my prostate measures about

I wasn't sure where to post this but this seems fitting I guess. I need to get things out but I worry about being judged. Maybe because I judge myself the most. More than anyone could ever judge me. I beat myself up a lot. Here's my (long) story... I have everything (most) everyone wants in life and

Estrogen therapy rediscovered
Before Lupron got FDA approval, prostate cancer was treated with orchiectomy or estrogens. The latter was done with diethylstilbestrol (DES) offered as fosfestrol and many further names. In India diethylstilbestrol is offered as Honvan and still used today against prostate cancer. In men, the required

Metformin and Androgen Receptor-Axis-Targeted (ARAT) Agents Induce Two PARP-1-Dependent Cell Death Pathways in Androgen-Sensitive PCa Cells.
New study below [1]. This is a cell study, but it provides a rationale for using Metformin with Abiraterone/Enzalutamide, i.e. androgen receptor-axis-rargeted (ARAT) agents. "The finding that patients with diabetes taking metformin, but not other anti-diabetic drugs, have a decreased risk of dying from

Testosterone HRT with Levothyroxine
Hi wise posters, I’m on testosterone as part of HRT & take Levothyroxine in the mornings which suits me best. Does anyone know if testosterone interferes with Levothyroxine? If so, I should try applying the testosterone gel at night & hope it doesn’t make my insomnia worse. I’ve only just started testosterone

Why continue LUPRON when ADT not working?
I have castration resistant prostate cancer with a Testosterone level of 6. I am not sure why I am still taking Lupron when it is clearly not working? Ideas? Like everyone, I hate the side effects! Thanks in advance! History: Diagnosed at Stage 4 (2 years + 3 months ago). Reached mCRPC 1 year

Testosterone deficiency in a Parkinson’s disease
Testosterone deficiency is a common, treatable, and largely unrecognised form of co-morbidity in Parkinson’s disease, and as demonstrated by this study is common in a movement disorders clinic setting. It may go undiagnosed when the symptoms are attributed to the non-motor manifestations of Parkinson

Testosterone isn’t coming back. What now?
It’s been over a year since I stopped treatment and my testosterone is steady at 69. Made it to 99 one month last December. Had 40 rounds of radiation and hormone therapy including zytiga and Eli guard for 18 months. I think I killed my ability to make it on my own. Doctor agrees it’s not coming back

Testosterone level on Firmagon and Xtandi
Anyone experiencing a testosterone level around 20 ng/DL (and rising) after being on Firmagon and Xtandi? After initial treatment it was undetected and has gone from 10 last month to 20 this month. I know it’s not a trend but still makes me worry. Your experiences?

And the scan results are...
I'm having a great response to folfiri. The neuroendocrine tumors in my liver are smaller and fewer in number. Lungs are mostly clear now, with one new spot that neither me nor my oncologist are worried about unless it gets larger in my next scan. All my skeletal metastases are stable. Prostate
