Hi wise posters, I’m on testosterone as part of HRT & take Levothyroxine in the mornings which suits me best. Does anyone know if testosterone interferes with Levothyroxine? If so, I should try applying the testosterone gel at night & hope it doesn’t make my insomnia worse. I’ve only just started testosterone gel so I know that isn’t the cause of my insomnia at the moment any way!
Thanks 😊

All vitamin levels are fine but good call & thanks for checking. I’m regularly tested as seeing functional nutritionist. Ive recently started to suffer from RT3 since I changed my HRT. I’ve just gone back onto my old HRT which I felt much better on but wondering whether testosterone is best taken at night & if it interferes with Levo or not?
I use testosterone gel in the morning, I rub the gel onto my skin usually after a shower. I have never noticed any intereference with levothyroxine in the 10 years I have been using it.
I’m on NDT not levothyroxine, but I use a testosterone cream at night and take my NDT early morning and it’s been fine. I think because the testosterone is being applied to your skin there should be less risk of negative interaction.Perhaps try magnesium for your insomnia.
