My birthing story!!
Was advised to have an
epidural
to controls blood pressure which i agreed to. In 6 hours I reached 10cm dilated. I was only allowed to push for 25 minutes because of the injury to my head. After 10 minutes I was taken to theatre as little one had turned side on.

Experience of induction please?!
I am DEAD SET against having an
epidural
as I already have back problems. Has anyone had a successful sweep that led to a natural birth? Or did you still need other help? I am drinking raspberry leaf tea (have been since 35 weeks) and now on 3 cups a day. Also trying sex and curry!

Epidural Heaven and Philosophical Thoughts
Hello everybody, Last Monday I spent the whole day hanging around the day surgery ward waiting for an

injection in the lumbar region of my spine as recommended by my spinal consultant., I had already been told, rather dismissively by the pain clinic consultant, that it would probably have

Well the waters had gone! Here is my boy!!
My god it hurt. 4 hours later I had my
epidural
before they did another exam. To find out I was already fully dilated!!! So then had to wait another hour for him to work down a bit before pushing. Then in 27 minutes he was out!! Couldn't believe it! Hope the pic has worked.

My boy is here, and has been almost 4weeks already :D
By 8pm I was given an
epidural
! I kept hearing the doctors and midwives muttering, but was in so much pain, I didn't care! I was examined by about 11pm and was told I was still only 5cms! I'm not stupid, I knew what this meant! All of a sudden, a consent form was staring at me!

Lumbar Region Epidural
Has anyone had this procedure done? I'm due to go in for day surgery in a couple of weeks or so to see if they can relieve some of the pain in my spine. Apparently I'm not a candidate for another op because of the infection and scar tissue following the first one so this is a bit of a last ditch effort

35+5, 10 bleeds, 3 hospital stays and a house move. My pregnancy so far....
I can still have a vaginal birth but have been advised to have an
epidural
as soon as possible due to my asthma and potential breathing difficulties when in pain- I really wanted to be mobile. I have also been told that because of my cervix I could labour very quickly or very slowly (helpful!!).

Peanut has arrived!!! My birth story x
I was told I needed to have an
epidural
while I could to avoid being put to sleep if the decision was made to go to theatre! It took them an hour and several attempts to get the
epidural
in the right place (my back now looks like a very braised dart board).

Anyone had epidural / spinal block for pelvic pain?
And wouldn't an
epidural
make my legs etc numb? Sorry if I'm being ignorant, I know very little about it. My appointment is at 10:15 tomorrow so if anyone can help before then, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :)

anti-inflammatory meds with anti-tnf injections?
I have RA and a disc prolapse which I had a
epidural
yesterday. The specialist agreed that anti-inflammatory meds would be better than co-codamol. I have been trying to contact my rheumy clinic to ask the question.

WHOOSHING SOUNDS IN THE HEAD ?
I have a dear friend who some time ago had surgery for a leg fracture with an
epidural
. Shortly afterwards this loud noise started in her head ...whooshing and dinging was her description - it's constant and vibrates in her head like a very loud pulse. Heart and blood pressure ok apparently.

Awake again
Had an
epidural
in my neck the beginning of July but it didn't work so the pain clinic have now decided to give me steroid injections in my trigger points, so fingers crossed that gives me some relief. Just getting over kidney infection forgot how painfull they were.

Experiences of induction and top tips for making it as positive as possible?
My ideal birth would be one with as little intervention as possible and I am keen to remain active and if possible avoid an
epidural
. So I'm interested in your experiences of being induced and in particular any tips you may have for making it as positive as possible.

Can I have Epidural Corticosteroid Injections under general anaesthetic whilst taking carbimazole for graves disease?
After seeing a back specialist, and getting an MRI I have been referred to get
Epidural
Corticosteroid Injections. The specialist doesn't seem worried that I'm on Carbimzole or that I have graves. Does anyone know if I should be worried or not, and maybe not have this?

My birth 30.06.2013
To which I'd had enough and asked for an
epidural
. The thought of another twelve hours with the pain was terrible. And
epidural
was the best thing I've ever decided to do.
