I'm new here - HA in December 2015, one stent fitted and feeling grand since. Have moderate CAD. Am on 75mg of Aspirin and have to have a tooth extraction next Thursday. Have asked surgery if I need to stop Aspirin for a few days but they haven't come back to me yet. Just wondering if anyone on forum on low dose Aspirin continued with it before/during tooth extraction and had any trouble with excessive bleeding or if anyone stopped it and for how long before extraction??

I have had teeth removed on 2 or 3 seperate occasions whilst taking 75 mg of Aspirin and everything was fine a bit of pressure from the Dentist will stop any bleeding if necessary.
I don’t think I would like to be taking other major blood thinners whilst having an extraction. Obviously your Dentist will put your mind at rest . Good Luck
Hiya! Not sure if my experience will be any help - I'm on 300mg aspirin once a day with my morning beta blocker (Bisoprolol 1.25mg). I had a tooth wanting extracted last year, asked the dentist when he booked the extraction when I should stop the aspirin and he said 'No need - if we see excess bleeding, we'll deal with it.'
Extraction went well, no excessive bleeding and the socket healed perfectly.
Despite the high dose, I'm not a bleeder and I'm not even a bruiser so it's not an issue for me. But everyone is different - if you bleed a lot from small things (like a paper cut) or bruise easily and it's been said that is down to the aspirin you take, you need to mention that to your dentist.
Hi to get placed on the transplant list, I unfortunately had to get five teeth out, they weren't happy with my ancient amalgum fillings!, I was on low dose aspirin 75,i had informed the dentist but I didn't have to stop and all went well, char
