Drugs pits stent
Had stents done yesterday. Now given Perindopril (used prior to stents) Bisoprodol Fumerate, Trangina XL (used Momomax XL prior to stent) concerned they will lower blood pressure too much as prior to stent BP was 125/75 or slightly less. Was surprised that nitrates are continued too. Think it is OTT

Weaning off Ropinirol.
Well...I finally started weaning off ropinirol. I take 2 mg at night and have been on this stuff for over 5 years. In that time, I've gained weight and no amount of dieting works! The ropinirol may or may not be the cause, but before I started that stuff, I had no problems. Now the ropinirol works most

Medication
Stent - I had a heart attack in August and after 3 admissions to hospital was finally fitted with a stent. I am on lots of medication and wonder if it will soon be possible to come off some of it. It seems a bit like belt and braces with having to take aspirin and another blood thinner?

Autopsies tell us the secrets of Parkinson's...
The brains of Parkinson's patients tell us some of the secrets of the disease at autopsy... "For History must be our deliverer, not only from the undue influence of other times, but from the undue influence of our own, from the tyranny of environment and the pressure of the air we breathe". Acton.

Plavix Withdrawal?
After 2 DES in Aug 20 I just completed 24 weeks ( 6 months) on plavix and as agreed by my cardiologist I am off from this rat poison from 24 Feb (3 days) . I had severe headache and chest muscle pain / pressure which also effects left arm from last 3 days. I know its muscle or rib joint pain as I can

Heparin and Asprin together IVF?
I've been prescribed LMW Heparin for our latest FET (although I had it for the last one, which also resulted in miscarriage). Has anyone taken (advised by clinic or decided for themselves) it alongside Asprin, during down reg and onwards, should there be a BFP?

Clinically extremely vulnerable and Covid?
Hi there, I haven’t posted before but I found the website a real source of support and information during my mitral valve repair with OHS in 2018. All went well but for some reason I’m listed as clinically extremely vulnerable. Since my heart is functioning well now can anyone throw light on this classification

WTF consultation tomorrow after 3 failed transfers, any suggestions on what to ask or suggest for next steps?
Hi All I have my follow up consultation tomorrow after another failed transfer. This time it was a natural FET (my first ever frozen) with endo scratch and glue. Grade was a 5BB. I previously had two fresh transfers after two back to back ICSI egg collection cycles. Grade was a 5BC on one of them

Meds post stents
What meds are prescribed after having stents? Hopefully my angioplasty is scheduled for this a Friday. Do you still take nitrates? I know aspirin and anti clotting medication is prescribed as well as continuing with my blood pressure tablets. Is it a problem getting travel insurance after stents?

Reduction in blood thinners
My Mam had a double heart bypass in July 2019 after CA and many HAs over a 6 year period. Her body just didnt like her stents! She has recovered well and is doing more more than I've seen her do in years, which is great. She has had her blood thinners removed from her med list, however is still on aspirin

Can we prevent, slow or halt, improve symptoms and reduce the severity of Parkinson's?

Effects of Aspirin After Oesophagectomy
I take a daily dose of aspirin as a blood thinner as prescribed by the hospital, I have had an oesophagectomy. Does anyone have experience of this and whether the aspirin will damage the lining of the now elongated stomach or intestine.

NSAIDs Might Exacerbate or Suppress COVID-19 Depending on Timing, Mouse Study Suggests.
( NSAIDs = Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, eg Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Paracetamol ) New research shows that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) reduced both antibody and inflammatory responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection in mice. The study appears this week in the Journal of Virology, a publication
