CT Scan is a-coming!
I’m really hoping to finally get a clear diagnosis - IPF or no IPF, COPD stage 3,
Emphysema
, chronic bronchitis etc - bring it on! Just lay it on the table and give me the news, good or bad so that I can move on!

I have been following with great interest the research being done in the field of vitamin A and
emphysema
. The theory (and question) is why does
emphysema
continue to progress long after the original causation has ceased? (i.e. smoking for example.

Cake
My husband has severe
emphysema
and bronchiectasis diagnosed when he was 28 after a childhood with repeated bronchitis. I thought you might like to see his 75th birthday cake. Some people have been horrified, but most, like us, and more importantly he, thought it was very funny.

Asthma copd overlap.
While I was in hospital having a ct scan they found
emphysema
. So then I'm having a panic etc. Went for Spirometry only a few months ago and it seems I have asthma too. As I get %18 reversibility and once I've had 4 puffs of ventolin my Spirometry just about creeps into the low end of normal fev1.

Elevated D-dimer,negative scans
Doctors nurse called tonight with the results stated that both tests came back negative with the chest scan showing a bit of
Emphysema
accounting for the breathing problem....I guess.

Didn't know what that was but Dr said the x-ray they did showed markings indication
emphysema
. Why didn't my consultant see this when he looked at x-ray Febuary, or has it just appeared on this x-ray? The test this month is full lung function test include singke breath diffusion.

You Must Declare Medical Conditions
Her husband says it is on a technicality but the issue was that
emphysema
was not declared on the application. Although it may cost more one has to be totally honest.

Emphysema missed by specialist. Should I be annoyed?
She did the same tests and found I had a milk allergy (quitting milk has madequite a difference), plus
emphysema
which is the reason I have had several collapsed lungs.

Lots of questions today
Was dxd with
emphysema
and "some" asthma. I suspect the heavy pollen could be a contributor. Question 1: I have some prednisone pills (prescribed) that I don't normally take. Are they helpful for
emphysema
? Question 2: How can you tell if it's the
emphysema
or asthma that is bothering you?

Normal spirometery test, normal ct scan, lungs burning and SOB
The lung dr sent me for an ct scan, no sign of
emphysema
, no signs of inflammation in bronchial walls. Im going to an ear, nose, throat dr next week. Symptoms are phlem in throat, shortness of breath, some tightness and now and then burning sensation in chest.
