Yes! You have to persist mate! They .....well medical personnel, still care a lot, but, mate! They are fighting the same crap we are!

Look! I had a very dear friend sell up & move town because of the bureaucracy, she was an Anethesitist nurse, very qualified, l thought that I was in the wrong, because we were becoming very friendly, but, no! She told me the main reason was work, they were treating her like crap! She kept getting put on call all the time, so, her social life was ruined. A lot of the admin staff, plus management in the public sector don't have to worry about the future, they have a career for life, usually!

Every doctor at your clinic has a budget to work with, for example, they might receive $20,000, or equivalent to say.....6weeks of grief counseling, or the hospital might get enough funds to help a patient get hospital inpatient care for maybe a few hrs, or if their assessment of the patient is warranted, a group of doctors will have a meeting and see how many beds are available in the relevant ward, so, sadly the 'almighty dollar' does have a say.

I am in the system now and I'm looked after pretty well! PLEASE, BE PATIENT! 99% OF THE MEDICAL STAFF ARE IN LOVE WITH PEOPLE & THEIR JOB! OK? 1% are the people who are never happy, EVERY place has them, be a SQUEEKY WHEEL and you will be able to get help! You MUST persevere.

Good luck, my friend, remember....at the end of the day! It is your LIFE! F..I..G..H..T. for it.

Hi my nurse told me it is possible to have emphysema but not copd. This is because is purely at the bottom of the lungs in the aveloi. Most people have damage top and bottom so they have copd. It sounds like you have background emphysema which is very mild.

You should be getting an annual review though with a respiratory nurse so ask at your doctors. x
