Long Lungs Again ( I am Not tall and average build)
Had
emphysema
for many years. This year I have had only one flare up but breathing is not great but have cardiac problems. This makes it difficult for the Asthma Nurse.

You May Not Believe Me
I have
Emphysema
. My last FEV1 was 29%. In my day-to-day routine I am not even aware of my COPD. I am aware of it if I tax myself with inclines or stairs. On l level ground I can walk as long or as far as I want. Not fast but not noticeably slow either. I use something that is 100% Russian.

23 with Emphysema
Hi, I am a 23 year old male diagnosed with COPD
emphysema
. This is my first time on the site and am wondering if there is anything I can do to help my lungs improve naturally or any herbal remedies that will help my lungs function better or repair themselves in the coming years.

COPD shortness of breath.
I do have some
emphysema
and some asthma but get only this symptom and nothing else at all. I do get puffed out going up very very steep hills, but I'm a 55 year old ex smoker, so I probably would anyway. Thanks again.

Hello all..........first time poster🙂
I have severe
emphysema
and have been in hospital several times over the last few months with the dreaded chest infections. The hospital consultant has put me on theophylline tablets (200mg), but I’m finding I’m even more breathless with taking these.

Can a pacemaker help with breathing?
I have severe
Emphysema
and last year had heart failure whilst in A&E. Was on life support for 4days then critical care for 4days and remained in hospital for 1 month. One year on I have had a pacemaker fitted which should stabilise my heart rhythm and help my shortness of breath.

Help
I have also read that lung problems can be connected. 2 years ago I was also diagnosed with COPD,
Emphysema
. I can't lie down flat due to this as I have difficulty breathing if I do. I have a Braltus inhalator to use each morning to open my Airways and a Salbutamol pump to use throughout the day.

Felt poorly, result chest infection.
I was told by the consultant on Friday morning that the
Emphysema
is the same as it was 2 years ago (nice one) and I did not have a blood clot (nice one) I did not have pneumonia (nice one) but I did have a chest infection (bad one).

A tad confused after pulmonary doc visit
My Doc still considers my
emphysema
as mild and my asthma as moderate. But I don't think my actual numbers match up. Lung age (89) FVC 71% FEV! 66% FEV1/FVC 92% PEFR41% FEF25-75 53% My 6 minute walk was start 96 then at end 87 but 590 steps (too Fast) Any one have any input??

Stage 3 Emphysema, Now What?
I have just been told I have Stage 3
emphysema
. How is this possible to deteriorate so quickly. I have followed all the doctors' orders, All the specialists, the resperologists, you name it, I have seen it. Now I am oxygen, but I only need it when I climb stairs or walk great distances.
