Hi This is my first post but I have been “lurking” for a while! My husband has severe emphysema and bronchiectasis diagnosed when he was 28 after a childhood with repeated bronchitis.

I thought you might like to see his 75th birthday cake. Some people have been horrified, but most, like us, and more importantly he, thought it was very funny. He gets through with a great sense of humour although times are very difficult at the moment.

Wow I love the cake and your sense of humour. It gives us all hope that your husband has reached such a good age with his illnesses. Now you have broken your duck don't be a stranger. I am sure with your experience of lung disease you will be very knowledgeable and can help the rest of us.

Thank you for the welcome. I love the support you all give each other, and marvel at your resilience! I thought I knew quite a bit about bronchiectasis and emphysema but have learnt lots of useful info since I joined this site, particularly about different drugs. Best wishes to all.

I think the cake is a wonderfully imaginative celebration of your husbands birthday and i hope it tasted as good as it looked,thank you for sharing it,even if it was only the picture and not the contents.
