Hello there everyone, As an incidental finding from a CT scan 10 years ago I was told I had some
emphysema
in my upper lungs, I also have asthma and hyper inflated lungs, the end of last year my spirometry test was okay, my peak flow readings are up in my personal bests most afternoons, 460's 420-40

Not good..
My GP believes that the mild
emphysema
diagnosed after the scan doesn't explain these symptoms so I am a bit lost. in fact, I find even difficult how to explain them ,but something is not right. Even the GP is not sure of what to do next. ENT referral?

Mild emphysema, please advice. Confused
Good morning all, It would be great if someone with this condition could describe their symptoms when resting, watching tv, going to sleep, etc. How is your breathing/ chest then? Thank you xxx M

Caring experiences - end stage of life
Just wondering if anyone is or has been a carer for someone with end -stage COPD/
emphysema
? I'm currently caring for my dad who has end-stage COPD and thought it would be nice to have someone to share experiences with. It's a real rollercoaster.

upcoming Angioplasty
But I have severe COPD (
Emphysema
) and am wondering if having a stent put in will help my breathing? The stent is for my Right Coronary Artery and is appx 25% blocked! example of my breathing would be one flight of stairs relatively ok, two flights and need rest and inhaler!

Rib/Side pain is back 2 years post op.
I figured it was a combo of the
emphysema
and the heat and humidity we have been having. But today my side is so sore I had to take my bra off. Luckily I'm not going anywhere today. I worry because the cancer invading the pleura, to me means it had started to travel.

World-first lung repair shows promise.
A decade ago, Ing became the first physician in Australia to insert endobronchial valves in COPD and
emphysema
patients. Ing first performed this operation at MUH in 2010, and since then it’s become the leading centre in NSW for this procedure.

Many thanks to all you lovelies on this site
I read a post on here about recently being diagnosed with
emphysema
and being scared stiff, I was the same for at least a month, imagining how I could leave my husband and pets, all the things we were going to do when we retired.

Emphysema and antihistamines
Having severe
emphysema
every time I go outside I seem to suffer the the effects of hay fever. Only a sore throat and more SOB mostly but taking antihistamines only makes me more SOB. The other issue is that the antihistamines only seem to be effective for a few hours.

Completely Off Supplemental 02 for a Year ;)
I've been at end stage
emphysema
for many years now. After having to use supplemental 02 for two years, I was able to go completely off it for what will be a year 06/06/20 ;) Exercise, nutrition and stubbornness to battle and win are what did it for me.
