RESPIRATORY NURSE
I have been diagnosed with severe
emphysema
. I went for my spirometry check as I do every year and I have 27% lung function. I also had blood taken, I have to go back next week to have them redone as my white cell blood count was high.

end stage emphysema and respite in a hospice
Hi all, my mum has end stage
emphysema
. she went into a hospice for respite today, they said between 1-2 weeks to regulate her breathing. her breathing is so bad but oxygen levels normally 92-94 so no oxygen needed. she is intolerant to most meds including nebs, she throws up. she takes 7.5mg prednisolone

I'm feeling chatty.

Emphysema
is pretty bad although I seem to be managing quite well on two litres per minute. I say that because at rest I show a reasonable 95 even 96 or 97.

Bullus emphysema and inserting a one way valve
Specialist said last week that the bulla was distorting my diaphragm and lungs, and increasing the fibrosis. Anyone know about these one-way valves and the dangers of them, please?
