lung volume reduction operation
I have been told cannot have the valves fitted into my lungs as severity of my
emphysema
however another heart/chest surgeon says he will carry out the volume reduction surgery.

Emphysema
Hi in February I was diagnosed with severe
emphysema
, I have had a lung test with the nurse at GP's practice & seen my GP regarding a chest infection I had in March, they changed my asthma inhaler to help me breath better, at what stage do I ask to see a consultant, as would like to know how bad it actually

Flu won’t go away.
I was diagnosed four years ago with
emphysema
. I have had no symptoms. Six weeks ago I got the flu. It’s been a rough six weeks. Getting my breath back and my energy back. Now every morning I can’t breathe and have to use an inhaler. Never had to before.

I’m at end stage
emphysema
have just come off a dose of prednisone. Felt halfway human and motivated to do small jobs around the house. It felt so good just to make us both a cup of tea What is the reason why GPS are against giving a small does daily just to be able to have some quality of life.

do I need my inhaler ?
I’ve gathered that I have
emphysema
and bronchial wall thickening and other bits. I was given an inhaler spiolto respimat but not really sure if it’s doing anything. So do I take it ?

thyroid and common cold
I'm on antibiotics etc but as I have
emphysema
it's worse. Do people find any sickness gets worse due to auto immunity or is it mainly the carbizabole making immunity worse? interested in your answers on both questions. Thanks for listening:)

Tricuspid valve regurgitation tooth extractions
I have severe tricuspid valve regurgitation and
emphysema
and need to have 3 to four tooth extractions. I have been told I need to have these extractions done at the hospital. I have been waiting three years since covid and still no appointment for the extractions. I am in a lot of pain.

Recent COPD diagnosis
I'm new to the Forum and have recently had confirmation of a COPD diagnosis (
emphysema
) after being admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties during a chest infection. I had spirometry tests last October but still have not had results so have no idea where I am on a scale.

Partner Reaction?
Does anyone else out there struggle with how your partner has reacted to your diagnosis of
emphysema
? Mine says how bad it is for him at the thought of how he'll be able to cope by himself when I die. He says he needs to focus on his own fitness so he can look after me when I go downhill.

PIP when on oxygen 24/7
I've had COPD (
emphysema
) for several years but over the course of the last few weeks I've experienced a rapid decline in my breathing to the degree I could only walk a few metres before being totally out of breath.

Lipoid pneumonia
As I have COPD and
emphysema
I took this seriously and spoke by phone with an ENT doctor colleague of my consultant who claimed he had never heard of it. So, I would appreciate comments from anyone here having similar experience. Many thanks, FormerT.
