PCOS – my first treatment
About 10 days ago I went to see a specialist gynaecologist who wanted me to go for a TVS scan and run more bloods for prolactin, sex hormone binding globulin, testosterone and finally androstenedione (check out my post “Seeing my gynaecologist for the first time!” here). After seeing my consultant yesterday

Metformin
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Metformin? I’m currently going into my second week and am upping the dosage on Friday from 500mgs to 1000mgs. Haven’t had many side effect apart from feeling nauseous for the first few days but seems to have settled a bit. I was just wondering

Links to latest research
I thought it would be easier if I grouped all the links I’ve posted into one thread. Imo it’s all encouraging and uplifting. I’ve run out of time to find the link re Graft Host rejection advances, will do so later. Best Paul (Hope all the links open!) Replacing Chemo/Radiation in SCT’s https://med.stanford.edu

Metformin and elevated Billburin
I started taking Metformin about a month ago. I started by 500mg once a day, and increased it last week to 500mg twice a day. The plan is to go 2000mg a day in a month. My labs today showed elevated levels of Bullburin. All other liver numbers are good. Reading online,Metformin could be the main culprit

Metformin, trying to conceive
I have PCOS, my ovaries have a sort of scar tissue around them preventing me from releasing an egg so I don’t ovulate, I have had all sorts of bloods and scans etc... I was sent to a gynocologist to see if they would start us on any fertility treatment but clomid was out of the question until I lose

Positive Hope
Having using this forum since finding out I have PCOS - and it being very supportive, I thought I would write my journey. It may help others. May 2016, found out I was pregnant, July 2016 miscarried whilst in China teaching over the summer. 4 months before I started period again. Nov to April ovulation

Metformin could be beneficial, esp combined with Ruxo
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41419-017-0256-4 Very interesting, scroll down to impact on JAK2 mutation Early days but exciting because Metformin easily available and well tolerated. I’m told by diabetic friend who is taking it that only side effect was initial flatulence!

Restless leg syndrome??
Hi everyone. I am a 39 year old female. And think I might be suffering restless leg syndrome? It is more my feet than my legs which are bothering me. I don't get this every night. But when I do my feet feel very uncomfortable with a creeping crawling feeling . And I am unable to keep them still.

Can I stop taking metformin?
Since May 2017 I have been reducing my carb intake and also doing intermittent fasting - I skip breakfast. My doctor has taken out Dibizide M from my prescription and I am now on just 250 mg metformin at night. I also do a 36 or 48 hour water fast once a week. My HbA1c has come down to 5.4 from 6.4 and

Question about timing and sequencing of supplements
Now that the number of my medications are growing because of the added supplements, I'd love to hear how members incorporate the supplements into their daily intake, e.g. with or without food, timing (morning/lunch/dinner) and sequence or order (what to take with what, etc). I'm taking Zytiga (middle
