Yes its quite common to have this done, if your tubes are blocked then you wont conceive. Metformin is not always given, as it is primarily a diabetes drug and not a fertility drug. Clomid is a better option to go on after your tubes are flushed and ok. I had it done during a laparoscopy along with my cysts zapped as this can increase the chance of conceiving, has your partner been tested as well as 1/3 of fertility issues are now men !

If you are having just the tubes flushed then take a pain killer before hand as it can be a little uncomfortable afterwards.

My hubbie had lots of dead and two tailed sperm and low sperm count and put him on the Boots Vit C and zinc tablets and he ate things with zinc in it and his improved by over 100% in a year so that may help your partner too, obviously the varicocele could make it a little bit more tough, but definitely not impossible. How are you checking to see if you are ovulating (as a period does not guarantee it and you can ovulate without one too).

No period since November - GP wanted day 21 bloods but as I've not had a period... also had USS which said polycystic - gynae have given norethisterone to get a bleed to check day 3 and day 21 bloods

We tend to ovulate later than the norm so I suspect your blood tests would come back as not ovulating as they test too soon. Look at the fertilityfriends website as it advises how to see if you ovulate, it is the only accurate way for pcos ladies, and dont focus on a period too much, I had relatively regular periods but rarely ovulated!

Thanks for that, just fingers crossed the Norethisterone works to get a bleed so I can get bloods done

Hi, I had a Hycosy done in December which is dye infected into the uterus. This was after nearly 2 years trying to conceive unsuccessfully! After this test, I got pregnant a week later and I am now 10 weeks 😁 so very positive in my situation!
