Insurance covered treatment for C-PTSD or PTSD?
I tried
EMDR
and am currently in therapy and see a psychiatrist. Last March I went to Texas for inpatient then outpatient treatment for a month. (I'm from New England, USA). That helped tremendously. It seems though every where I contact for treatment does not take my insurance or is private pay.

How many people fear the night?
ASMR,
EMDR
, music, counting, herbal teas, and you name it. I will forever be awake. My heart feels better, but my mind is still racing … my anxiety is. Well, the house is clean!

Difficult night and day
I need the
EMDR
therapy but it’s very hard on me. Any suggestions on dealing with the palps especially. They are very disturbing to my already wired mind.

Met with my new therapist on Thursday and we’re going to try something called
EMDR
. I’ve heard great things about it and I have a lot of issues she said it could help with, so fingers crossed. Been dealing with this situation since Thanksgiving, I need to start feeling more progress. :(

Has anyone tried
EMDR
therapy? I’ve started seeing a therapist who specializes in this and wondered if anyone has had good luck with it

EMDR
, deep hypnosis. I've never had a counselor use these. Have any of you found relief by them?

Hi, I'm new here
My therapist and I are planning to start
EMDR
next week, and I think this group will be a helpful resource to share my experience, as well as to get some support and feedback. Thank you.

so very tired
I've heard
EMDR
and CBT are quite helpful.
EMDR
stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and I think it's related to the eye movement that we have in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep.

Can’t Wait to be This Happy Again
EMDR
therapy, Exposure and Response therapy, and meditation are just a few steps I’m going to take to get better. And hopefully a service dog will join my family soon, as well. I’m so excited to be the same happy girl I was just months before.(:

PTSD and EMDR healing
I've been doing
EMDR
for the last 3 weeks for PTSD. If you have ever had any issues with PTSD, that haunts you and still affects you, I'd encourage you to look into
EMDR
. As a Christian, I found it particularly helpful and healing to do this with a Christian therapist.

Healthy Anxiety - Fear of having a seizure
I'm not on any medications but I do see a therapist once a week and do CBT and
EMDR
. I'm so tired of living in constant fear and feel like I can't focus on anything besides my anxiety and fears. I'm also terrified I'll pass out or throw up in public. Although I never have before.

Friday night exhaustion - anybody else
I feel like every weekend, we are good, we get rest, we can do homework in short spurts; Do Crafts, shop and then it starts on Monday and then we have therapy and
EMDR
and more appointments and by Friday I'm exhausted, she's exhausted and I just lose it and I yell and then we make up and then finally

Childhood trauma/chronic stress - root cause?
BUT when I put my mental health as a number 1 priority, where I attend
EMDR
therapy and counsellors who specialise in trauma, the symptoms subside and my body is not as stressed thus my thyroid isn't struggling.

There is hope
I saw a therapist and began weekly visits and doing
EMDR
. I got on meds and I began the journey of healing. My mantra was “ There no other option then healing “. Not getting better was not an option. It took me 3 months before I started to feel somewhat back to myself.

Another day
So my
EMDR
sessions are done for the time being. I'm in DBT group therapy to better my life and learn tools to cope. I think it's working, considering I haven't been in a huge depressive mode for a week or so. It takes a lot of mental work...discipline.
