EMDR therapy
It really helped my friend with trauma. She describes it like, the emotions are no longer tied to the event. Non invasive, no medication, proven to be very effective. I think it can take multiple sessions depending on your history. Keep us posted!
I have heard good things, too. Best wishes with this! I hope it is beneficial! 🌸
EMDR can be very effective. It is hard work though. Things can flare up before they get better. The key is that you need to be able to bring yourself down if you get triggered. My husband is an EMDR therapist and I have learned a lot from him. EMDR was done incorrectly with me and I have had to work with my therapist to adapt it so I can tolerate it. I can say that the memories I have processed are not as strong now. And I found that one EMDR session addressed multiple issues much more efficiently than multiple sessions.
I've been getting EMDR therapy & it's helped me enormously with my anxiety issues that stem back to childhood incidents. My therapist has been working with veterans with PTSD for years so has extensive experience. CBT helped me with my major depressive event two years ago but was not helping with my GAD due to my long-term unresolved issues. EMDR also works much faster than CBT. Good luck & keep an open mind.
