EMDR, TAPPING, DEEP HYPNOSIS

No self esteem, depressed, socially anxious, hours of time alone....this was all on antidepressants. About 4 different antidpressent used over 30 years..what am I missing here? I am in counseling once again..this doc is using tapping, EMDR, deep hypnosis. I've never had a counselor use these. Have any of you found relief by them?

Newlife73, hang in there, your counselor will find what you respond to best.

Each of us has something that may work for us alone. Sometimes a combination

of methods will help us along with talk therapy and medication. I found a lot of

success in hypnosis and continue to use that each day along with meditation

and deep breathing. We can't always just depend on medication alone since that's

not the total answer. It's all about changing our way of thinking and how we respond

to the stress in our lives. Keep an open mind to all of these methods, since nothing

works without our cooperation. There is no magic pill, the key to success lies within

Thanks Agora1. I appreciated the support. I have always relied on meds which is probably why I am at where I'm at. Once my depression clears I wil have to incorporate some daily habits. My negative thoughts are what keep me in fear. Do you have a recorded tape to do your hypnosis? I had a friend with a hypnosis business do hypnosis on me but it didn't do anything. It was more like taking me through a visualization then anything. Thanks

Hi Newlife, visualization is good as well as imagery. But nothing works fast and that's

why a lot of people turn to meds. They want quick relief. These other methods, once

practiced and adapted by your mind actually will work faster (within moments) and last

longer than any medication w/o any weaning effects.

The tape I have is old and was given to me by a therapist years ago. Because of that, my mind accepts the voice and the suggestions immediately because I am basically

programmed to received the thoughts over a long period of time.

Hypnosis takes the right voice and the right pattern of speed. If they talk too fast and

too high, it doesn't work. I find that the lower and slower voice is more mentally accepting. Did you know that you can make a tape yourself? The mind actually accepts hearing your own voice in a calming tone. Have a dialogue written out

and some soft music in the background and start recording. I hope you give yourself

the time that's needed. Slow and easy, small steps...Once your subconscious takes hold of a transition to your thinking, those negative thoughts will be banished as soon as you hear that calming voice of reason. Peace & Calm Newlife xx
