Warfarin v heparin
I had a three month trial of heparin in 2008 and from what I can recall felt good. Then I went onto warfarin but this coincided with the first of four shoulder operations. Since then I have been diagnosed with fibro which adds to the brain fog and don 't know how effective warfarin is. have discussed

Can't sing since Total Thyroidectomy, Cancer Mets, Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve
I had a TT and Parathyroidectomy three months ago for Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Cancer. 77 lymph nodes removed (22 were malignant) followed by RAI and then sustained Bilateral Pulmonary
Embolism
. Now I can't sing. Surgeon said tumor was in voice box and fused to recurrent Laryngeal nerve.

Stroke Risk, Aspirin or Anticoagulant?
This prevents deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary
embolism
, myocardial infarction and stroke. Think of a cut on your hand. The blood comes to the surface and “pools” there and within a few minutes it will start to thicken and finally clot.

Recently diagnosed with large vessel vasculitis after a PE and wondering what treatment will be & if my shortness of breath will improve?
Also, has anyone else had a pulmonary
embolism
because of this condition as the docs think it may be the cause of mine? Thanks

Brainstorming required
I like to use film references so when I had my pulmonary
embolism
I likened it to when the priest in the omen got impaled by a lightening rod lol, I know extreme but it was how I felt even tho I have never had experience of a lightening rod but I think you get the gist lol.

Reducing steroids - any positive experiences?
Hi everyone I am currently trying to reduce my steroids and I am feeling very nervous as on the two occasions I tried before the first time was very quickly followed with a pulmonary
embolism
which had me off work for 3 years and the second manifested discoid lupus.

How do you come off Warfarin
I think that I am a bit nervous about coming off it, as I am not convinced that they really know how the
embolism
happened.

What is the difference between Fragmin & Innohep?
During my first pregnancy and part of my second I was on Innohep prescribed by an Internest Doctor (my old OB had always called it Fragmin so I thought it was just a brand name) I was taken off of it by a Hematologist who said I need not be treated. I miscarried a week later. I am 10 weeks pregnant

Coming off Warfarin
Hi, it was discovered I had a DVT on New Years Eve and I was immediately put on fragmin injections and warfarin. The intended period for the warfarin was 3 months which would take me to the end of March. I currently visit the INR Nurse weekly and my INR has remained throughout at the low end of

IV & oral steriods made me worse-do I have APS or does it go away
I have the history of APS-pulmonary
embolism
, miscarriages, positive anticardiolipin test, etc.. I have been to a few doctors who say my anticardiolipin test is normal so it has gone away.
