How do I cope?
My poor beautiful father, he was begging for air but it wouldn't work because of the pulmonary
embolism
blocking his vein. Words can't describe my devastation and the devastation felt by everyone who knew him. I just love him so much.

My INR result is reducing
I have been taking Warfarin for 11 weeks following a Pulmonary
Embolism
. My INR once in range was stable ( therapeutic range of 2.5-3.5), but it is dropping 2.0, 1.9 and now 1.8. My Warfarin has been increased, but I am finding this result quite strange.

I now have to wear glam anti
embolism
stockings for 6 weeks. In my rush to get home I forgot them so rang the chemist to buy some! They cost £8 each! And would not be available for at least a week so my sister took me back to the hospital to colect the ones I forgot!

I'm 43 years old and had a bilateral pulmonary
embolism
completely out of the blue on July 31 this year (no obvious cause or risk factors). I had a smattering of clots in both lungs and spent 11 days in hospital. A number of blood samples were taken before I was put on warfarin.

Warfarin or the new Anticoagulants Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) or Pradaxa (dabigatran)
Many of you who read my blogs know I keep banging on about your therapeutic range, which is measured in percentage of times your are within your range and The Gold Standard is 60%. At your next INR visit, why not ask your provider what your percentage is, it might surprise you. For those with excel

Flying whilst on Warfarin
I have been recently diagnosed with a Pulmonary
Embolism
after returning from a short haul flight. The next time I fly I will still be on Warfarin, what have others with this condition or similar found works for them.

I have APS-had pulmonary

Correction of mistake in a Moderators answer.
It was stated that the drug has a licence for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary
embolism
. This is incorrect.

DepoProvera compatible with APS?
I just began DepoProvera injections to prevent ovulation due to serious bleeding after a normal ovulation. Is anyone else out there using this form of birth control and have you had any problems with it?

Self management - An interesting story!
I was diagnosed with APS in 2007 following 3 DVTs and a bilateral pulmonary
embolism
. I dutifully joined the queue every week at the anticoagulation clinic where I had my finger-prick test onto the Coagucheck XS machine and prescribed my dose of Warfarin for the week. My INR range is between 3-4.
