Hello again, I am new to lupus (currently on 20mg prednisilone and 400mg hydroxy), so I hope people don't mind me asking some elementary questions. I've just come down with phlebitis in one leg - it's very painful. Started on flucloxicillin by my GP yesterday, but it's worse today. So are there any

I had a arthroscopy and then had a pulmonary
embolism
, so very lucky to be here. I was on warfarin for 6 months and the doc took me off it. 5 days off I had another
embolism
. Ok I now need a knee replacement but I am high risk. I have had my pre op now frightened and don't no what to do.

Drama Queen?
I tell the nurse about my condition and that I'm either anemic and my bone marrow is failing, I'm having a stroke ,
embolism
, or a heart attack. EKG is normal, bloodwork is negative for heart attack/clotting episodes, electrolytes good, all blood counts are normal except my dumb platelets.

Brittle APS?
Hi all, I'm new here. I was diagnosed with Hughes syndrome and pulmonary hypertension 2 years ago after almost a year in hospital and numerous operations to remove blood clots. One of my specialists recently spoke about changing me from Warfarin to Riveraxeban. As my INR has never been stable. My target

Prostate embolism
It seems that cutting off the blood supply to the prostate is having promising results with no negative side effects. Anyone try it?

Confirmation Brian has PSP!
Four years ago Brian suffered a Pulmonary
Embolism
affecting speech and slowing movement, where hiking up hills became ambling to the bus stop! Two years later the first sign of PSP was a backwards fall down our twelve stairs.

A microparticle when injected , eliminates the need for breathing.
In the past, researchers had a difficult time succeeding as prior tests caused gas
embolism
. This meant that the gas molecules would become stuck trying to squeeze through the capillaries.

I even got to the emergency room once because the doc said it might be pulmonary
embolism
and only the emergency room could do a blood test for such a scary condition fast enough. OMG, was I stupid to follow his advice!!! $975 later, no pulmonary
embolism
.

Hi, just got diagnosed a couple weeks ago after 2 incidences of pulmonary
embolism
and positive lupus anticoagulant. I also have fibromyalgia and HLA B27 which makes ankylosing spondylitis likely when coupled with my symptoms. Got to go get x-rays to confirm AS.

Changed diagnosis
Ear infections, bronchitis, in the hospital for GI problems, surgery on both my big toes and finally a pulmonary
embolism
. Now I can tell I've gotten a heel spur..... Very painful. I'm not happy about having an illness but at least it has a name now. I'm not just a nut-job anymore!!!

Et treatment options
The blood results indicated potential pulmonary
embolism
so they put me straight onto blood thinners. 24 hours later they did a pulmonary angiogram to check for a clot In my lungs. They couldn't see anything. Saw my haem one week later and bloods were back to normal.

I'm new to this.
I had an unprovoked pulmonary
embolism
one year ago and my new GP has just stopped my daily warfarin . I feel that I am lurching from one condition to another; are they related ? I am waiting for a hip replacement and I also have arthritis in my neck and back.

Discussing NOAC/Warfarin question.
I had an interesting session with my INR nurse, who, in conjunction with one of the GPs in our practice, who runs all things to do with AF. I asked her opinion on the pros and cons of switching to a NOAC and was given a very full run down. I mentioned the extra cost over Warfarin and was told it made

Warfarin, Verapamil and Aspirin
I intend to ask my doctor, but talking to a fellow AF'er who is not permanent he takes aspirin as well as Warfarin. I'm wondering if this would be safe with Verapamil also. He says, taking low dose aspirin makes the platelets have a shiny surface so that they can't stick to each other and form clots.
