Oh to be in Spain now the COPD is here....
He has COPD, similar to mine own, and suffered a pulmonary
embolism
a year or so back. I felt slightly better by comparison of course but brothers can be like that.

New Oral Anticoagulants Can Require Careful Dosing Too

Thoughts about Xarelto and APS
I was put on to Xarelto in Hospital after an unprovoked jugular vein DVT. Initially treated with heparin. As it turned out I eventually tested positive twice to the drvvt test so APS confirmed. At the same time diagnosed with SLE due to other issues My thoughts are that warfarin treats other symptoms

Pulmonary Embolism and the Future
Hi, This year in June I was diagnosed with a large bilateral saddle PE. I'm working on my recovery which has been hard and isolating. I wanted to know what the future has had in store for others with PEs - how has your recovery been? How has it impacted things like pregnancy / getting through winters

Sally, my chest physio is totally (AB) amazeballs!!!!
The ICU team had done their bit in pulling me through a double pneumonia, ARDS, a pulmonary
embolism
etc etc and now it was down to Sally and her team to rebuild what was left, a massive task because I had wrecked lungs and no muscles, infact I was a breathing skeleton that refused to give up.

Newly diagnosed with PV
I had a DVT ando bilateral Pulmonary
embolism
at the start of the year and the medics were scratching their heads as to why - my Haematologist thinks undiagnosed PV may have been a contributing factor.

It's been an interesting journey
In 2013 I had pulmonary
embolism
which they thought was from estrogen I was taking due to a hysterectomy I had in 2008. I discontinued my estrogen in June of 2015 and xarelto 4 months later. I also Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I have severe fatigue and have had extreme itching on my arms.

Im trying to find what the recurrence rate for

as I have a holiday in 3 weeks that involves long coastal walks. I feel i will be fit enough to do it but feel slightly anxious as phone signal will be poor should anything happen? Do i just get on with everything as normal?

Calf tightness in one calf... anxiety has now kicked in.
And a lot of my anxiety symptoms are those of a Pulmonary
Embolism
.... Has anyone had this? I'm currently freaking out. Want to go to urgent care, but don't want to spend the money, if it's just my anxiety. I can't afford it. Please help.

Warfarin to Rivaroxaban
Hi It's been a month or so since the results of the trial were published. Has anyone swapped yet and if so how are you getting on? For me Warfarin is working just fine but I'm really considering swapping over, mainly due to the frequent INR trips out of work and diet interactions. I'm just undecided

Another pleural effusion - Scared of recurrence....
I am terrified that it could be the cancer coming back in my lung, he said it could be a number of things, i.e. because I had the embolisms and fluid in the past, it may be that my lung is reacting to this damage, also that even on medication an
embolism
could recur and cause this fluid again.

Challenging but great to be alive
Bladder was removed, donated to the Lindecker cancer research institute at UNC Chapel Hill. while in the hospital I had a pulmonary
embolism
. I needed chemo. Had 3 bouts of sepsis. Now 5 years later I will have a CT scan and if clean it will be my last. I have been blessed and I know it.
