Update to private cardiology consultation.
I am really pleased with today’s appointment. I gave him a list I had typed of all my questions and he went through them one by one. He was very happy with the Kardia ecg printouts and didn’t require an ecg there. We discussed many things Af and heart related. He also reviewed my cholesterol figures

Newbie - undiagnosed but suspect hypothyroidism
Hoping someone can help by looking at my results so I am armed with info when I next talk to GP.Concerned I may have hypothyroidism as I have some symptoms such as slow heart rate (with irregular palpitations) currently being investigated with 24 hour ECG and now referred for 7 day ECG according to NHS

good news, I’ve found my trigger, bad news I’ve triggered another episode!!
I’ve been kind of keeping a mental note of different foods I’m eating to see if I could find a trigger. Well, I’m 99% sure I’ve found it. My last episode was 2 weeks ago. I remember that the only thing id eaten out of the ordinary was a bag of midget gem sweets. The af episode was the longest to

strange beats
I have had Afib since 2018 , in Jan 2019 I started sotolol and Xeralto after a successful cardio version, I have felt good no side effects except insomnia since I started on it . I think the sotolol causes the insomnia cause I did not have it before . I however think that’s better then a lot of other

POTS? Palpitations and Kardia interpretation
I have had palpitations off and on for years - dismissed as ectopics and not of any concern. Back in 2021, feeling pretty rubbish in the mornings particularly I found information on-line about POTS, which seemed to fit my current and historic symptoms. I monitored my BP and pulse from waking. These were

Previously when speaking to GP they brushed it off as long ‘that illness’. Now two years later i did running and box steps ups- my hr went to 200+ with

Pacemaker
Good morning so for months I have had feelings of fainting and hardly left my home. Anyway I finally had ecg echocardigram and R test. Saw my cardiologist yesterday and he said that I am now bracycardic as well as having Af so will need a pace maker. Bit of a shock. Also to immediately cut my propanalol

Anyone else had problems with changing appointments?
I have now calmed down so can write sensibly, has anyone else experienced problems when trying to re-arrange hospital appointments? I go annually for an ECG where they scan your chest area with the gel and it makes funny noises and I always where my eardefenders as it creeps me out. Usually get a letter

Extreme pain in right jaw, teeth and neck
A week ago my husband began to feel a numbness along his right jaw line from his earlobe to his chin. The numbness turned into pain and the right lower teeth became painful as well. We went to dentist for x-rays which showed nothing. We then went to an oral surgeon for more x-rays which showed nothing

Persistant AF but the irregular irregular variety.
Diagnosed April 23 via ECG with persistant AF but not the high pulse rate variety most members seem to have. Mine is always irregular and my pulse constantly ranges between 60 and 90. Not particularly aware of it. Prescribed Nebivilol as beta blocker and Edoxoban as anti coagulant. Marginal Stage 1

Seeking reassurance post-cardioversion
Hi everyone, As I've posted before, I had a DCCV on Tuesday of last week after being in Atrial Flutter for 6 weeks - 2 months. The flutter has come about after open heart surgery to repair a large hole in my heart. My levels of anxiety about the Flutter returning are variable, however much I try not

Ventricular Bigeminy
Hi all, I hope everyone is doing okay. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever, or is suffering from ventricular bigeminy? That is my current diagnosis, and it started out of nowhere in November last year. I have episodes that last for weeks. My last episode lasted for 8 weeks and my ecg shows my atria

Slow recovery and set backs after angiogram and stent
I had an angiogram and stent inserted in late July after three weeks of angina. It was diagnosed as uncontrolled angina, it came on rapidly over three weeks and got worse very quickly. I suspected that is what it was and was happy with what was done and how quickly they did it, arrived 10am, stent inserted

Flare confirmed with PET scan
This is an update which I promised from my previous post and I have some questions at the end. About a month ago I reported that I had stopped Tocilizumab and I was waiting to see if the GCA had gone into remission. I had no GCA symptoms and no eye problems confirmed by the ophthalmologist. I felt better

Mad and sad
Yesterday we had a phone call from our holiday company. Due to travel on Saturday 9th on a luxury coach tour ending up in the Italian Dolomites Little Steam Train tour.Called to say our coach has been downgraded and we can have 350 pounds compensation. This coach is not suitable for my husbands mobility

Breathlessness update
Thanks to the advice you gave me about other reasons for breathlessness than the Pred. I saw a senior GP in the same practice yesterday. He listened and checked my chest and heart and has organised an x-ray, blood tests and ECG and heart muscle test because he thinks it might be mild Atrial Frib.
