fist ever cardiology refer-what to expect

since i had that ‘illness’ in 2021, I get a heart rate of 200+ during certain exercises (I am fit and healthy and now scale exercises to avoid this). Previously when speaking to GP they brushed it off as long ‘that illness’. Now two years later i did running and box steps ups- my hr went to 200+ with some chest tightness. I range the GP, they have me an ECG which I was told normal but I have now received an cardiology referral. It also causes my resting HR to be elevated above 80 for the rest of the day and I am exhausted

Should I be concerned until recently doctors brushed it off and now I’m being referred?

No, if it was something urgent you'd have been sent to A&E instead of waiting on a referral.

Keep a symptom diary, it will help you to explain what's going on to the cardiologist.
