Yesterday we had a phone call from our holiday company. Due to travel on Saturday 9th on a luxury coach tour ending up in the Italian Dolomites Little Steam Train tour.Called to say our coach has been downgraded and we can have 350 pounds compensation. This coach is not suitable for my husbands mobility issues as declared on insurance and at time of booking( far less leg room no footrests etc etc)
They say they will keep the rest of the monies paid(2,000) if we cancel.
Long saga ongoing now Citizens Advice say otherwise.
Very shocked and distressed been waiting on this holiday since 2020.
You know what I'm going to say!!
Despite every effort to keep calm and carry on woke up in AF 5am. Have rung GP and he's calling me back this pm as I want to show him. Kardia ecg so its on my records.
Just wanted to rant with friends who understand as family say things like ' now don't get yourself into AF etc' grr

Thank-you. I just got on the phone again and apparently there may be a way via travel.insurance, which we bought off them but the main person dealing with it will get calling me back today. I'm not going to give up grrr
I would want to rip someone's head off and spit down their neck!!! I'd threaten them with allsorts, naming and shaming them on Google reviews, Martin Lewis, RIP Off Britain etc. As CD has also mentioned, contact your credit card company regarding a Section 75 charge back........ the threat of that alone may be enough as they don't like credit card companies doing that as it has some sort of negative affect on their credit.
Ducky they just phoned few mins ago and offered a full refund!! I did go on for about three hours yesterday, cited Citizens advice ref 2018 Travel Regulations, and rang today telling then I needed answers today because of heart situation. Thank you for your kind support mate
That's true yes. We have just booked a nice sea view suite in quiet part of Barmouth N Wales and going on steam trains there next week as bags are packed and ready to go!Look after yourself missus xx
Very pleased to hear you have got a positive outcome, the stress you could have done without though. Hope you have a lovely time in Wales, change of scene will do you good. Best wishes.
So pleased you got it sorted, I hope your AF can take a nice long holiday too! You’ll love Barmouth - it’s such a beautiful area with the Rhinog mountains nearby 😊
oh no that is terrible!! Sadly I’ve been here a few times as I have two disabled kids with particular needs. Last year a cruise company moved us from a suite with two rooms and separate proper beds to a cabin with one room and bunk beds. For a whole host of reasons that was not suitable for us. So onto the usual stress of trying to sort it out. To date we’ve not had to cancel and in time it’s got fixed. Sometimes we even end up upgraded. In April a hotel had messed up our booking and when we arrived they could see what they had done would not work, the only room they had left suitable was their Royal Suite. Was very nice indeed!
So sorry you are going through this stress, it’s horrible and I’m not surprised it has triggered afib! Keep at that holiday company though, if they don’t have the cabin you need on that train (have they replaced the entire coach?) can they offer you what you need on a different date?
Jean I am definitely thinking of it. Great news they just rang back and offered full refund! I have a reputation for being a bit of a battle axe!Thank you
It is not as if we want to get worked up or cross or anxious. It just happens and sometimes no amount of essential oil of lavender etc or deep breathing can cope. So sorry about this. Good luck
That was absolutely awful and very sad as yo7 had been looking forward to it for a long time. So pleased though you are getting a full refund. Hopefully NSR will return as well now. X
