feeling pretty rubbish

hi all, 2 more stents fitted on Tuesday and I feel pretty rough since ( was supposed to be end of month but as attended a&e they got me in as inpatient)

was hoping would feel great after but still getting palpitations and have a cough and lots of pain. Feel battered and bruised

Before discharge was told it’s normal post PCI but have the same feeling as last time that there is something not right still.

my ecg straight after stent was ok but the one day after on discharge had some slight changes. Again told this can be normal

(after first stent was told all ok, pushed and pushed and eventually they said I had a long section of LAD with servers disease!)

I guess just some reassurance from someone who knows but if I ring GP they will send me to A&E, hospital just send home again and dismiss feelings

Maybe it is anxiety etc but still feels pretty crap.

Mainly lump in throat feeling like I need to keep clearing it, and can feel heat pounding (not fast just slow and hard) my heart rate is usually on low side around 40-55 ish at rest

Sorry for moaning on here I know there are lots of people in worse situation than me but I just want to get back to some level of normality !

Rant over !!

I had the same back in March. I felt rough after I had stents put in. It took me nearly 3 weeks before I felt anywhere close to normal. Just take it easy and slow as you recover. Most of the criticism from my specialists have been that I have been pushing to hard. I wish you all the best in your recovery.

Thank you for the reply nice to know I’m not imagining it.

Mainly the pain I get when going from sitting for walking only lasts a couple minutes but sends me into panic mode

I totally understand. It was the same for me too. The first week home was the worst. I was knackered taking the rubbish out!! Slow and steady was the motto for my recovery. 6 months later and I'm almost back to normal , I think just more self conscious and any little bit of pain, I start to stress. Luckily I have a good support network with family and friends, who have been fantastic. Best of luck to you.

Sorry you're having it so rough. It's a difficult time after stents as everything settles. Good on you for advocating for yourself and getting the treatment you needed! Remember that you did that and trust your instincts. If you still don't feel right, keep on at them.

I only had one stent in after my heart attack and for a few weeks after, on and off, I had a similar pain to the one you describe, like having something stuck in your throat. Uncomfortable but has settled down now and for a few wks I've not had it.

I've just been taken off ramipril because it gave me a dry cough that caused me to get chest pain, very unsettling! They've put me on Candesartan now and the coughing has stopped.

Are you in touch with a cardiac nurse yet? It sounds like a good chat through everything with them would be good.

I hope it all settles soon and you feel much better. Wishing you well.

bi thanks for your reply nice to know I’m not alone and glad your feeling better

Yeah I have been under the cardiac nurse ( not literally ) since my first stent in April

Now have to start the process again but will talk through with her next week. Still hearing from others who experience it is definitely more reassuring.

pace yourself. If you feel fatigued the. Rest up.

And yes that lump in the throat isnt your imagination.

Your probably waking up in yhe night with a dry mouth ss well? Think that's the statins.

I went in last year . Was in icu for 5 days, was about to move to yhe ward had a relapse . Out of it for another 5. . Finally got a bed in ward a few days later. Got home on day 25.

Took me a few months to get my strength back.

Thanks for your reply sorry to hear what you went through!

I’ve been on statins since April but this is more recent. ( in fact since the stress Myoview scan - which I had bad palpitations for a few days afterward)

I’ve even moved to taking the statins in a morning now instead to try combat the nightmares 😂

I have had the unmentionable virus recently and wonder if that has something to Do with it
