Three days ago the niggles started nagging. I’ve gone up on Pred 3 to 5. Improving. How long can I or should stay at 5.
Don't know where my post went. I have really been lucky with my PMR journey. Not complaining. But in the past week I've been feeling wonky. I should have predicted it. I've taken on too much, physically and mentally in the last several weeks. I lost my pacing and just kept crossing my fingers that

My beautiful husband has become another star in the sky
My darling husband of only 2 months lost his battle with PSP this evening. I had managed to get him home on 17th Dec after nearly 5 months in hospital. Unfortunately his SATs dropped over the last couple of days and I couldn’t get them up in the early hours despite suctioning through his tracheostomy

Champix can be disruptive after a while...
Hi there; hope everyone had a good Christmas. I did okay on not smoking and over-eating, but last night was tough. I went to my sister's for Christmas Day supper. Everyone was drinking wine, eating desert and the baked goods were on display. After supper I had an urge to step outside away from the noise

Could this be IBS?
My mum is a sufferer of IBS, I am currently going through test for many repoductive issues but am beginning to wonder if my problem is IBS. I get very sudden urges for needing the toilet, sometimes mild but also sometimes chronic stomach discomfort before needing the toilet. I also suffer from diarrhoea

How to get off Madopar125
I'm 70 years old man living in Australia. In recent years I found my body movements a bit clumsy as I always bumped into things and knocked down things. I could not control although my mind is clear. I went to a neurolohgist and I am told I have Parkinson's disease. He prescribed me Madopar125. I started

Just read article that Kefir (drink) is better than Probiotic yogurt for IBS and IBS-C. Does anyone take this..is it helpful for IBS, IBS-C?
Hi, I have severe and chronic constipation, and nothing helps..nothing! I have tried it all. My last options are 2-3 stool softeners a day (Colace), and Senna once a week on Sundays which is an excellent laxative. But it disrupts my life, I have been on once a week Senna for about 8 years. Stool softeners

7 ketoDHEA?
This was posted on another group and want to share with you for comments. Thanks. “7 ketoDHEA is an adrenal hormone that is available over the counter in the USA. Unlike DHEA, it does not degrade into testosterone and does not normally cause the dangerous side effects of prednisone. In alternative

Low dose naltrexone
I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience taking LDN. I believe I remember monkeybus taking it a couple years ago, but never heard any results. This is the next thing my doctors want me to trial for neuropathic pain. I've read that it may have some benefits for fatigue, as well, which would be awesome

The future looks bright
So just over a year ago we had a 13 yr old boy placed with us. He had been soiling day and night since he was five and we were told it was emotional and not physical. We started from square one with a referral to continence clinic. They said he had severe constipation and that his bowel did not work

Immune system
Had my monthly review with GP last week and was told my white blood cell count was low, she said this can happen with long term steroid use. Am now on 7.5mg from 40mg. I asked what, if anything, I could do, and was told to keep eating a healthy diet, keep hydrated and keep on with my walking. I wondered

I can't find the post I was looking for where someone told me about low dose naltrexone for fatigue, focus and energy level. I asked my neuro about it and even sent him some of the message I thought was very relevant. Long story short, here is his response: "There has been some research done on Low

Renal tariff changes
Hi all those who dialyse at home, this is quite worrying The new renal tariff for 2019 - 2020 has just been published and NHS England is proposing to reduce the funds that are paid to hospitals for home hemodialysis treatment. A reduction in the tariff may result in the change in clinical behaviour,

Signs that death is near
I think I posted something similar before Signs that Death Is Approaching Certain signs and symptoms can help health care providers and family caregivers anticipate when death is near. Common end-of-life indicators are explained below along with suggestions on how to handle these changes. Drowsiness
