I've got a BI injury question about being comatosed and having my catheter bag removed in 2014. What's the MAIN general thing that happened to my BLADDER once this is removed.
For instance: 1catheter bag removed 2. Hole stitched over. 3. I'm unsure and just CURIOUS about what happened to my bladder I'm in the UK under NHS and would prefer a Dr or medical professional or maybes even someone who's been through the same sorta situation as me. TIA

Did you have an ileostomy bag on you abdomen or a urethral catheter?
It used to be a urine catheter bag inserted into my stomach below my belly button if that helps any? Once taken out they inserted a Uretheral catheter to allow me to empty my bladder correctly. I'm just unsure now since it was removed to insert the uretheral catheter how this was done??
To insert a uretheral catheter the catheter is lubricated then just inserted/slid into your penis/urethra, a small balloon is then inflated at the end of the Catheter so that it stays in your bladder and doesn’t slide back out. No surgery required and can be easily replaced/changed. The ileastomy when the tube is removed from the bladder it seals and heals quite quickly.

It was probably just a sealed up job cat like you say and strawbs it was the urethral later once the stomach catheter removed to get the body functional again and urinating through my penis. Thanks folks.
Not sure I understand your issue S-p. I'm assuming you had a catheter to collect urine whilst you were bedridden, and later it was removed and the entry points sealed. I've had keyhole surgery a couple of times ; the cut was sealed with glue and internal organs with dissolvable stitches.
I understand this route is used rather than via the urethra as it's less likely to leak. But, either way, your bladder should be fine. These procedures are commonplace & low risk.

You had a suprapubic like mine below your naval. The bladder wall closes over and heals naturally as does the hole you can see. It happens very quickly.
