Traumatic afternoon at eye clinic!
Had an appointment yesterday afternoon at 1.45pm to check my eye pressures. Got there, only to be told that my appointment for some unknown reason had been cancelled! I hadn't received any communication to let me know, so had to wait for about 20 minutes while the receptionist looked for my notes and

Rinvoq 5 days
I started my Rinvoq on Wednesday. The first 3 days I was so tired I could barely get off the couch and couldn't keep my eyes open. This has improved somewhat the past couple of days. This morning some of my joints actually feel less painful. I was able to get up off the toilet without too much

Headaches
Hi everyone, I’m desperately trying to cut down on pred, for a about 10 days I’ve reduced quite a lot, I’ve got down to 2 or 3 mg per day but have started to get headaches again also feeling very tired, plus started getting very sore tongue, ulcers and pain. I was taking 5mg before I started to reduce

I can't seem to get off my SSRI
I have tried weaning off Lexapro extremely gradually, over a 3 year period, going from 10mg to 3mg. RLS seemed to gradually worsen during this time, especially during the last 6 months. It seemed that the SSRI and RLS were unrelated. Six weeks ago, I received a job promotion, and was suddenly hit

Cold Laser and EMDR!
On November 3rd 2021 I started seeing a new chiropractor who uses cold laser treatments. It’s like red light therapy on steroids. Look it up! My smell that was diminished is now almost normal. Gait and stiffness improved greatly. Little tremor I had is gone. Can Type 75% better! He does a laser treatment

Losing our little baby boy to Edwards Syndrome
Had our 20 week scan Monday and was referred to London for more scans with Edwards syndrome. My little baby boy is a wriggly active baby and I feel him move quite often but yet he really isn’t very well. His brain and heart are severely defective and they say his heart could just stop any minute. We

Is an opiate the way to go?
I currently take 100mg Pregabalin and use 2mg Neupro patch (Rotigotine) and these are to control my RLS. However I have been on them for several years and they seem to be becoming much less effective starting about 4 months ago, I think I am getting into augmentation, particularly with the Neupro .

Has anyone developed a breast lump during IVF treatment?
There was a post about this a few years ago, which is helpful, but I'm just wondering if anyone active nowadays on the network has found a breast lump either during or shortly after IVF? I posted earlier today about my mixed results from my current IVF cycle, with the 'mixed' part being the discovery

I have suffered with RLS syndrome for 35/40 years or so. After many different medications I remained on Amitriptyline for years. My RLS became much worse earlier this year with severe jerking and very little sleep again. My GP put me on Pramipexole, to be increase from 1 to 3, as needed. I was ok on

Low Blood pH While on Ventilator
My husband has been in the ICU and on a vent for 4 weeks now due to Covid pneumonia. His vent settings are on 85% oxygen and 12 PEEP with a RR of 32. His oxygen levels are okay. This morning the pO2 was 87 and the monitor read 94. However, his CO2 remains very high (>90), which causes his pH to

Yesterday I cut my Prednisone by 10mg. I've taken injections of Actemra on the 5th, 12th and yesterday. Last night I noticed bleeding in my left (blind) eye. It was a bit worse this a.m. so I made an appointment with the ophthalmologist. Not GCA-related, just severely dry eyes so I picked up another

Ferritin levels
Finally managed to convince my GP to test my ferritin level. The result came back at 94 and from reading posts here, I note the level should be above 100. Could someone clarify please if Ferritin is the same as Ferrograd. I have been using Pregabalin 175mg for about a year and find the effects

Technology - a source of massive stress
Anyone else having this issue? I’m 78, a former university art instructor, and am finding myself increasingly stressed when having to deal with technology to get anything done - especially health care! Everything requires passwords, sign in IDs, and if you mess up you often have to go through the whole

All that glisters… Not in the least clear whether this is likely to be of interest or significance to anyone. But I do think that the impact of anything on thyroid-related enzymes is an important avenue. [i]Chem Biol Interact . 2021 Oct 15;109709. doi: 10.1016/j.cbi.2021.109709. Online ahead of print

Wellbutrin as an SSRI alternative?
Hi I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has made a successful transition to wellbutrin from an SSRI and whether it has worked for them. My understanding is that this antidepressant does not aggravate RLS. I have tried to gradually taper off of Lexapro and was recently hit with unbearable anxiety
