The only differences between Porcine and Bovine that I know about are :
Porcine = from a pig
Bovine = from a cow
The ratio of T4 to T3 is different when comparing pig and cow and human thyroids, but I can't tell you any numbers. I believe pig is supposed to be closer to human than cow.
Sorry i I didnt write clear. My English is not my mother language. I have been using both but want to know if there is any side effect . I dont know if it my body how is a bit to low . My tongue feel a bit split. strange feeling I didnt had before. I wonder if there is any list of problem or different
That’s interesting as I have had split tongue for a long time, my B12 levels are apparently ‘normal’ but then the nhs seem to think all of my readings are normal.
I appreciate why your eye was caught by the issues discussed in this thread, but it really would be much better, for you and Eva56 for you to start a new post. Your are diverting from Eva56's post and it is likely few will ever see your responses in order to help you.
You might also consider posting on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum:
Hi, what brand/make is it you're using? It could be you're having a reaction to an added ingredient not the porcine or bovine ingredient. For example Metavive porcine and bovine thyroid has an additional ingredient in it that some people can't tolerate. Maybe check your ingredients list?
Thanks for the answer. (sorry my English) Yes about Metavive they started around April 2020 5’-Ribonucleotides. Same time I started with milk protein drinks and new iodine. Disaster. I read a comment here about it. So i have other brand now.
I change this summer and I had to wait to long to got other one. I by from a company and he must import it but from how I dont know. It shouldnt be any thing in extra in in it.
Lot of problem went a way with out any Thyroid medicine
But few of the problem had been there with Levaxin-Eurothux and Metavive.
I have bought 18 differents beds and 20 pillows. I have been up at night because my back felt go off.
Stiff back and neck problem, hands and the muscles are so tight and fascia so i had problem with balance to go in forest.
This summer with out any medicine I didn had so strong muscles but i was like mountain goat. All small muscles were there so I had good balance Not for long walk but that feeling was fantastic.
I create sensitive body so no E-number (Citrus acid and similar) and milk protein. The guts dont work at all or explosions and itches back. Have you any brand you can recommend and by and test in EU. I always want to have capsules so I can take it with out capsules. I have new situation puffed face, very swollen body eyes (inflammation in them) , stiff muscles and tired. Very dry skin.
I Have been reading and taken lot of extra vitamin and minerals, I have taken test many times before and even sent to London about RT3 and now I even do kinosologi test by my self.
No pufas and no fytogen products. Take lot of ADk and E vitamn with no pufas-oil.
These could be sensitivity reactions then. I have a lot of sensitivities too. I can't take the standard UK versions of T4 levothyroxine but I can take Synthroid T4 levothyroxine! That's hard to get in the UK. I have to import it. I can't tolerate natural thyroid glandulars as they are too high in T3 for me. I tried.
It took me a while to find what I could tolerate. Lots of trial and error. Have you tried synthetic levothyroxine T4 or just natural dessicated thyroid glandulars?
Sorry you are struggling to find something that suits you!
Do you mean iodine by NOW? If so, why are you on iodine? Have you had iodine defiiciency confirmed? Taking iodine is not recommended unless you are truly deficient. In fact, taking iodine can make matters worse. Metavive is a supplement without any declared hormone content. Levaxin and Euthyrox are prescription brands of levothyroxine with a standardised hormone content.
And why did you start on thyroid hormone replacement in the first place? Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism? I cannot find anything in your profile about your medical history.
It is not clear why Levaxin/Euthyrox did not work for you. Are you under a doctor´s care?
Given the strong link between iodine and thyroid health, it's reassuring to learn that iodine deficiency is rare in the United States and other developed countries where iodized salt is used. Indeed, as an International Journal of Molecular Sciences study reported in 2014, iodine excess is currently a more frequent occurrence in these places. This, though, is not without concern.
For some people with abnormal thyroid glands, excessive iodine can trigger or worsen hypothyroidism. While initially, you may have more energy, high doses can cause an "iodine crash" that leaves you feeling exhausted and achy within a few days.
That's because high iodine intake can initiate and exacerbate infiltration of the thyroid by lymphocytes, the white blood cells that accumulate due to chronic injury or irritation.
In addition, large amounts of iodine block the thyroid's ability to make thyroid hormones. A 2014 study in the journal Endocrinology and Metabolism found that more-than-adequate or excessive iodine levels are unsafe and may lead to hypothyroidism and autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's thyroiditis, chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis), especially for people with recurring thyroid disease.
NOW´s iodine contains 225 mcg of iodine per capsule so 150% of the reference daily intake.
Eva56,PM me if you want to discuss this in Swedish!
