Wellbutrin - Looking to hear other's experiences & expert psychiatrist recommendations

Hi. I am new here and grateful that I found this group.

I am in my 40s and started medication for ADHD for the first time 1 year ago. I am on 300mg of Wellbutrin xl. What started as an amazing help now seems to have gone too far - I am no longer on a constant quest for dopamine hits (a good thing) and am able to focus, but have tipped to the other side where I now have little interest in the things that used to bring me joy. It seems that I am less and less interested in people every day. I used to thrive on social situations. I'm feeling depressed and agitated. Generally pissed off and disinterested. I feel like a different person - too much so.

My psychiatrist doesn't have experience with Wellbuturin for ADHD. I am desperate to find someone (preferably in San Francisco) that can expertly help with my questions about dosage and titration.

I'm also interested in hearing if anyone else has had this experience of the effects of Wellbutrin just going and going.... from one extreme to the other, for which there seems no end.

Thank you in advance for your insights, experiences, any ideas you have!

sorry, i don't have any advice on dr's. but i also take a low dose of wellbutrin. i also low dose of cylexa. i was on cylexa for quite some time to help with anxiety. it helped with my irritability too which was huge for me!! but a few years ago i started to feel depressed here and there. i think because i can never keep up to my own standards :/ that is when the dr added a low dose of wellbutrin. it has been super. i tried to stop the cylexa but i am a much happier person on it. seems to be a great combination for me. but i have had a few people tell me that wellbutrin was not good for them!! so maybe you need something with it? or a change. changes suck!!! but worth it in the end. good luck!! you shouldn't have to deal with being unhappy. go with your gut!!! :):)
