How long do I keep supplementing?
I posted this a few days ago and would really appreciate some advice. I'm finally feeling really well, thanks largely to the forum and wonder how long I should continue supplementing. I have been reading Dr Brewers book 'The Essential Guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements' and it looks like I'd

Ferrous Fumarate
I have a feeling these should be kept well away from Calcium in foods. Could someone please let me know if I am correct. I know it has to be taken with Vitamin C and, I think, 4 hours after Levothyroxine. I would be grateful for advice on this.

Fed Up Please Help
Dear All this is my first post and I am all new to this and PA, please be kind. I have been feeling unwell for quite some time but brushed it of as having a busy lifestyle. I have been suffering with extreme tiredness to the extent when at work I just wanted to put my head on my desk and go to sleep.

I am new here. (I have been asking lots of questions over the last few weeks!) My GP always told me I didn't have a thyroid issue, so I have been self medicating for 8 yrs. My GP finally diagnosed underactive thyroid about 2 weeks ago and asked me to come off all meds and offered me only 25mcgs of Levo

Put on a stone in a month....not happy, not happy at all!😣
Morning all, I write this morning with a nice cuppa in hand 😉 I don't often feel the need to step onto my scales, but the last couple of days I could feel my neck thickening... I know what I weighed a month ago because I was honing my heavenly body for my wedding!😇 So, when I stepped on the scales

Fersaday tablets? Is there an alternative?
Is anyone else having problems getting Fersaday Ferrous Fumarate tablets at the moment? Can anyone recommend an alternative? I have been taking 2 tablets for a long time now, as prescribed by the doctor for severe lack of iron (and for me very low ferritin). I can now grow my hair and it is so much

High PSA
I'm new to this site, so here's my story so far: Two years ago (when I was 68) I lost my appetite and began losing weight - I went from 12 stone in April 2014 to about 10.5 stone over two or three months. My doctor did not start doing blood tests until June of that year and did not include a PSA test

Oh boy, stumped again about what next,,,
Big hellos fellow Hashi-Hypos Long time no post but, alas, I have another chunky log of tests and symptoms to submit to your collective expertise. Tried to make it easy on the eye - hope that's worked: As per advice of some of you guys and private functional medicine GP ( Dr C in Hendon) on November

Been diagnosed severely anaemic when I've experienced no signs of anaemia?
Hi Due to having severe acne for 12 years I was referred to a dermatologist to be put forward for roaccutane. As everybody knows, it's a very serious drug and has dangerous side effects. Because of this I'm having to have monthly blood tests, pregnancy tests. My first blood test established that I was

Ferrous Fumarate problems with heartburn and constipation
Hi all, I've been taking Ferrous Fumarate 210 mg tablets three times a day for a couple of weeks now (prescribed by GP), supplementing with 1000 mcg vitamin C daily. I'm getting heartburn and constipation - is there a more gentle (but at the same time effective) Â alternative I could use? Thanks in advance

VEGAN Ferritin
This particular Ferrous Fumarate is vegan, something that proved very difficult to find and it's only thanks to a very helpful Newent chemist that we found it. Ferrous Fumarate 140 mg/5ml SYRUP, by Mercury Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Please note though that the vegan society says that vegans are rarely deficient

Sudden drop in B12
Hi all. I have a long long history of iron deficient anemia - often quite severe but very responsive to standard iron tablets. I have been monitored closely for the past 2 years for TSH, B12 and haemaglobinopathies. My TSH is rising but has still been in range, free T3, T4 are bottom of range and
