Generics of Tecfidera not available in Europe until at least 2025
Received an email about this today: European Commission decision supports Biogen's pursuit of market exclusivity The European Commission (EC) has withdrawn its marketing authorizations for generic versions of Tecfidera (
dimethyl
fumarate
), an oral therapy approved in Europe for relapsing-remitting

Been away for a bit...depression hit hard
I just tried the
dimethyl
fumarate
(generic Tecfidera) which made me break out in severe hives. So right now I am on no drugs and must say I feel really good being drug free. My neurologist feels that she wants me on a DMT for at least a few more years (I am 64).

Border line Anaemia
Can anyone help me please? I have just been diagnosed with border line anaemia. I had a message from my surgery that a prescription had been left at the pharmacy for me to collect. I haven’t even seen a doctor. The prescription is 210mgs Ferrous Fumarate twice a day. I have taken them for two days

3 am protocol for T3, please tell me about it?
Please could you tell me what I need to know about the 3 am protocol for T3? Does there need to be a gradual transition from split dosing? Anything else I should know? I have been on T3 only for some years and recently have been very tired and depressed, for me the usual symptoms of being hypo. T3

advice needed please re iron and thyroxine
hi there, I’d really appreciate some advice. I’ve been on Thyroxine for a number of years and have been fine, I’ve just been told that I have Anaemia and have started on Ferrous Fumarate tabs 210 mg. I’ve started to feel tearful and anxious this last week and wonder if the iron is affecting my thyroid

Ferritin and depression anxiety!
Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the link between low ferritin and depression and anxiety! It seems I have had my thyroid levels optimal for a while now… me being me thought that because I had raise my ferritin from 40 to 80 that it would stay there with a measly maintenance dose of 20mg

Folate test prep
I’ve been asked to retest my folate as this was rejected from my latest batch of blood tests, earlier this month. I’ve not had just folate tested before (only as part of a wider set of tests) please can you advise on any prep I need to do for just folate? Assuming I should stop Thorne Basic B

Iron deficiency
After blood tests showed low ferritin and other values indicating iron deficient anaemia, the NHS did a fairly thorough job over 6 months with various tests and procedures to eliminate internal bleeds as a cause ( anticoagulant doesn't help!). Finally given the all clear and advised that iron supplementation

Advice regarding Thyroid levels
Hi Could do with some advice regarding my thyroid test levels. I have Hashimoto's but am not taking thyroid medication due to my TSH levels not being high enough yet. I was diagnosed just over 2 years ago after my health had declined for several years. My GP did however agree to a 25mcg Levothyroxine

Beware of Lansoprazole
I have taken this drug for years for acid reflux. Last year, during a medical check, it was found that my blood count was so low it was almost at needing a transfusion level. I was put on Ferrous Fumarate which brought my level up but my ferritin level is still low. I had an endoscopy and it was discovered

Hashimotos - understanding latest blood test results - any advice for next steps?
Hi all, my partner (44F) has been struggling with hypothyroid / possible PCOS symptoms for ~18 months (thinning hair all over, some hirsutism and weight gain). She was diagnosed with Hashimotos in October 2022. We have been trying an approach to tackle both the thyroid issues and the hyperandrogenism

Fibrosis result confusion
Hi all, I have been a lurker on this wonderful forum for about 61/2 years when I was diagnosed with alcohol related disease. Only symptoms were ascites and weight loss, about 3st. 8 litres were drained from abdomen at that time and I have never had any liquid build up since then. I am completely compensated

What vitamin supplements to take alongside B12 injections?
Hi all - I'm currently on monthly injections for PA but still feel tired every morning even after a good nights sleep; low energy days; trouble focusing etc - sure you'll all be familiar with the symptoms! I've had several further blood tests and vitamin D and iron deficiencies have been identified
