Hi, Two weeks ago I was given ferrous fumarate 305mg to take 3 times a day, since I have hypothyroidism and my iron levels were low. I have been taking them for two weeks now. I was also given Fluoxetine 20mg and have been taking those for 11 days for depression. Two days ago I bought Vitamin D 10ug

Does T4 level matter when on NDT?
I recently had a blood test done at my health centre to placate my GP, he is concerned about my suppressed TSH. I just ignore him when he says anything, I have tried explaining that TSH levels are irrelevant when medicating but it does not sink in, though he does accept that I am aware of the risks and

Iron supplements and stool colour
So, it's well known that taking iron supplements usually produces a black stool. But what might cause a sudden return to a "normal" colour? I've not stopped taking the ferrous fumarate, and will allow for the possibility of having been prescribed a duff batch. Are there any other likely reasons?

Ferrous Fumarate 305mg given to me for thyroid problems
Hi all, Recently I had been told I had thyroid problems which I had been given medicine for 2 years ago. I didn't realise that I had to keep going to the doctor regularly for this. It caused me a lot of problems including stress, Depression, anxiety and irregular, heavy periods which have lasted 2 years

Best way to take Ferrous fumarate & Levothyroxine
Morning, does anyone know the best time to take ferrous fumarate tablets. The research I've done gives conflicting advice, non given from my GP. Some sites recommend leaving 12, 6 or 4hrs after taking levothyroxine. I'm meant to take 3 ferrous a day, at the moment only managing 1. Any advice gratefully

Help with supplements needed
Hi. Recently had my bloods retested after starting on 50mg Levo in September. Levo was increased to 75mg and I was also prescribed Vitamin D tablets as my levels were low. I have since got hold of my results and noticed both B12 and ferritin levels are also on the floor, but noted as "normal". Also have

Could it be just the low ferritin?
My results are : Tsh 5.62 (0.4-5.5) Ft4 12. 1 (10-19.8) Ft3 3.5 (3.8 -) TPOab 40 (<60) My ferritin was a bit low 39.6 (20-291) Now I wonder if my symptoms could be just the low ferritin ? And if I manage to get the ferritin up then I will feel ok? What do you think? I have just started on 25ug levo

Has anybody had an iron infusion?
Hello all, I went to a very helpful and patient endocrinologist yesterday as recommended by the lovely ladies here. It was a private appointment. I am hypothyroid and I have antibodies around the 200 mark. One of the main issues I have is fatigue and I struggle to increase my ferritin levels as I cannot

Newly diagnosed
I just started on Levothyroxine 25 microgrames. My ferritin was a bit low 39.6 (20-291). So I bought ferrous fumarate 210mg and plan to take on each day until retest in 6 weeks. Does this sound good? Is it safe to start this on my own without talking to my doc? The pharmacist was a bit reluctant to sell

Advice would be hugely appreciated
Been feeling progressively worse for the last few years: extreme tiredness, lack of concentration, brain fog, getting words muddled, memory problems, feeling cold, headaches, joint stiffness and probably other things I've forgotten. I've had blood tests before but aside from iron tablets I've always

In need of advice please
Hi there. I'm new to this and have no idea how things work. I do need some advice though please. I've been anemic now for 9 years. My levels were at there lowest (2.3) when I was pregnant with my 3rd son. I was undergoing IV iron every week. Made an improvement for one week and then it was discovered

Are my hb and iron results dropping because of increased inflammation?
Evening peeps☺ I am beginning to think that my iron (which is down to around 4 (should be 9) and my hb is around 10 (should be around 12) is down to my inflammation: esr 120 and crp 114. I'm soooo tired what with still flaring after 9 months. I take ferrous fumarate 3 x a day. I'm off to the docs in
