Hi, I have low ferritn, iron and folate acid readings - I have been prescirbed "Ferrous Fumarate
322mg tabs" * The make is Fersaday.. I have major problem taking these - I get terrible constipation. I really need to take an alternative medicine but not sure which? I have checked on some websites and I havent found one that has the same elemental iron (what ever that means?). * I suffer from

Hi, I know this may appear a silly question, but for many, many years my Iron, Feritin and folate acid have been well into the lower end
of the range measurments. I am desperate to start taking NDT, but, due to 'these' levels being low I dare not risk taking this medicine as it wont work. *I am at the moment taking prescirbed 322mg Ferous Fumarate one per day.* My levels are still low, but in the range!! I am quite concerned that

Can anyone comment on Solgar Gentle Iron? Ferrous bisglycinate vs ferrous fumarate...
My ferritin was 19 (11-336) so I'd like to make a start so I bought what I found in my local health food shop. Generally I like Solgar products because they don't have a lot of junk in them, but I don't know how much to take of this iron. It is ferrous bisglycinate and not ferrous fumarate. Any thoughts

Can anyone decipher active B12 results?
Hello all. I have paid privately to have blood tests done as GP and I have differing views. I have seen a private GP for B12 injections, but now manage on sublingual tablets as I don't have a never ending pot of money. Result says Active B12 less than 68, but there are no reference ranges or units

Just Had 1st Endo Visit - Any Advice/Help Really Appreciated
Hi all, I've been more of a lurker/reader on here until now and have picked up some great advice over the months so hoping maybe someone could help me as to where to go after a pretty bad Endo appointment that I've just had. Sorry as it's probably a bit long and rambling as I feel stuck as to what

Folate, zinc, Vitamin D
I've got a printout of my latest blood tests done at the end of May. I know the ferritin is low, but I'm wondering if the folate, zinc, and vitamin D could be better? Serum folate 7.9ug/l [2.1 - 14.0] Zinc 10.1 umol/l [10.0-18.0] I don't think I have any signs of zinc deficiency Vitamin

Do you have to feel worse on T3 before you feel better?
I have recently started on T3 and I'm still titrating the dose - currently on 50mcg split as 37.5 (7.30am), 6.25 (11.30 am) and 6.25 (3.30pm). My basal temperature has twice got to 36.6 C after the first dose, but it quickly falls back so I assume that I'm under-medicated and have a way to go. The

Daughter's Test Results
Firstly I would like to thank you for the fantastic info I was given when I posted last year and which gave me the courage to ask for a trial! I have hashimotos, which took too many years to be diagnosed and I obviously don't want my daughter to suffer unnecessarily. She's been having annual blood

Do Not take Iron meds with Levo.!.
for those who are not aware, do not take ferrous fumarate for at least 2 hours after taking levothyroxine as it can decrease the effects, and the amount of levo your body intakes! I was prescribed ferrous fumarate, and started taking it along with all my other meds on the morning. and only found this

Is this as good as it gets?
I am new to this site and this is my first question. In 2008 I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. The internist prescribed Levothyroxine for me, which I still use. I am female, early 40's and vegetarian for more than 30 years. I am now using 175mg of Levothyroxine a day. I take this in the morning

Recently diagnosed witth IBS. Have underactive thyroid on 100mg thyroxine daily, i also take ferrous fumarate and folate. Adivce if you can.
I am also on 20mg citalopram. To be honest i'm not convinced my symptoms are IBS so thought i'd see what the experts (the patients!!!) thought. My main symptom is abdominal bloating which can occur within 5 minutes of eating any wheat gluten or dairy...hence i have cut these items from my diet, further
