Zanda after Zytiga

Orgovyx and Zytiga brought my Gleason 9 cancer to a PSA of 0.67, but after 5 months my PSA has slowly risen to 1.59. Would it help to switch from Zytiga to Zanda? Poollover

Not Zanda, but Xtandi. Thanks to these drugs I can't spell any longer. Poollover

Yes Xtandi or nubeqa also work for you.

Copied from your profile :

Is there anything I can do to bring it down still lower, ideally to an undetected level?

Answer: It is my personal opinion, Please try to find ADC clinical trials. I am pretty sure it will help you out.

"Orgovyx and Zytiga brought my Gleason 9 cancer to a PSA of 0.67, but after 5 months my PSA has slowly risen to 1.59..."

What was the starting PSA, and how long were you on Orgovyx and Zytiga? It seems like a poor response. That combination reduced my recurrence PSA from 3.78 to .04 after 2 months and .02 after 5 months.

If you have been on Zytiga + Prednisone for a long time, the rising PSA may mean you are becoming castrate-resistant. If so, a switch from Prednisone to Dexamethasone may gain a couple of years on Zytiga, based on SeosamhM's experience: healthunlocked.com/user/Seo...

Or, as you propose, changing from Zytiga (abiraterone) to Xtandi (enzalutamide) could be a good sequence: "Abiraterone followed by enzalutamide treatment is the best sequential treatment for most docetaxel-naïve patients." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Remember, you and I are the same age........... ask your doc if Nubeqa would be a med he would prescribe for you (replaced my Casodex and has lowered my PSA). 1936 - Good Year (Depression/War babies).....

Hello,

Xtandi (denosumab) or in lesser amounts Prolia does not affect your prostate cancer. It simply strengthens your bones and by doing this, hopefully, it might prevent a skeletal related event (SRE) such as a bone fracture.

I don't think you're correct. "Enzalutamide, sold under the brand name Xtandi, is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen medication which is used in the treatment of prostate cancer."
