Diverticular Disease
I’m at a bit of a loss and having a chuckle at the same time. I had a couple of dramatic gastric episodes winding up in hospital. I recently had a CT scan to check out nasties and got the result yesterday. I was told I had extensive diverticular disease and perhaps this was responsible for the gastric

Hi I’m back low carbing
I did it last year then got burn out and gave up basically I’m also on a drug called Forxiga so I’m doing moderate low carb of 100g per day which surprisingly has been ok as I was told don’t do it Dr gave me the drug and sent me on my merry way which for me didn’t bode well but I got a meter and strips

LCHF and clogged arteries
Good morning everyone. I think I may take the prize for longest member who hasn't said a word 😳. I can't remember exactly when I joined up but I check in every day and am in awe of everyone's progress but I have never joined in (ridiculously shy). Over the last year or two I've managed to eat myself

A tale of four hormones
I am gradually getting my head around how and why LCHF works. It’s not enough for me to be told a diet has worked for loads of people, I need my brain to be involved & understand why I have to give up buckwheat pancakes & rye toast. So. Halle Berry does Keto and looks amazing. Bully for her in my view

Dietary advice while on Predisnolene
Can anyone help with dietary advice to avoid weight gain, and hopefully lose weight. I was diagnosed with pmr in July, started on 15 mg now down to 10 & trying slow taper to 9. Low carb difficult as I can’t eat lots of fruit & veg. Any advice really appreciated

Newbie!!
Hello, I am new to the site. I have been low thyroid for over 20 years now. I initially welcomed my diagnosis because I hoped that I would be able to lose the weight that I had gained uncharacteristically for me once I had my thyroxine levels ok, but that didn't happen. I found ThyroidUK and tried

DBS for Mom who is 85
My Mom was initially not ready for DBS. Now she would like to go that direction. I contacted her Neuro and they said she is not a candidate for DBS and mentioned her age of 85. Now what? Do I push for another opinion from another Neuro? Or is there typically a cutoff for this type of surgery

Rheumatology apt. next week but have already decided I'm not going to have an infusion or any Bisphosphonates. I tried Risedronate and it gave me terrible side effects which I'm probably still suffering from. No more horrible drugs for me but I'm carrying on with the exercise, good diet, low carb and

LCHF Dilatory Pattern disturbed briefly -SUGAR LEVEL NOT COMING DOWN .....Afterward!
As an adherent of LCHF diets since 2015 I have been managing my Type 2 condition very satisfactorily. My readings have been around 120 until June 2019. I was trapped into a situation where I was forced to do away with my controlled diets for about a months’ time leaving me with readings around 160

New Start
Another weight loss diet has started, every year I say this will be the year I am finally going to be normal (what ever normal is). Last year I had many starts and many stops. Having a busy life with constant work pressures I seek comfort in food, it's a way of destroying myself. I hope this year will
