Leftovers for Lunch Today: 9-14-2021
Since there was a
leftover Vegan/Vegetarian hamburger
from last night's dinner, I decided to have that with some of the
leftover 3 colorful coleslaw and add some Ranch dressing and Dip on the coleslaw to mix together
. I also had some

I am surprised !
I’ve alwAys been slightly overweight but a few years ago had to address my diet for health reasons. I’ve put on a stone during last lockdown and found it almost impossible to lose. Last week I saw a post on here where someone was experiencing the same difficulties. I decided to try low carb and I

Cheese sauce with Guar Gum
Hi all I’m back from my travels and trying to wean myself off eating too much generally and also too much carbohydrate. Yesterday evening I cooked this cauliflower and broccoli cheese. I’ve tried a few low carb cheese sauce recipes, especially a few months ago when lots of people on the weight loss

Day #1
I've finally got a working Continuous Glucose Monitor, and the results are not what I expected. I installed it on Friday night and started it late Saturday night. I finished dinner about 10pm on Saturday night, low carb, high fat with wine of unknown carbs and didn't

What are the essential things to do before I start T3 ?
Hi everybody! I hope you can advise. I am hoping to try T3 very soon and have been reading one of Paul Robinsons books and trying to prepare. He strongly recommends having a saliva cortisol test and also an 8am morning cortisol blood test before starting T3 medication. So I was hoping if you could

Help! Trepidation setting in…
Having not run since I was 11 years old (I remember that day well….) I have decided that I need to get off of my bottom and take my health more seriously. Having largely ignored insulin dependent diabetes since my diagnosis, due to the fact that I am invincible, having slowly and blatantly increased

Eating Fruits when you have Diabetes
Even organisations like ADA, AHA, CDC, WHO....also recommend fruits for
diabetes
as a part of healthy
diet
. In spite of that most
diabetes
eat very little fruits or avoid all together, ignoring all advice, fearing blood sugar spike.

Metformin for Parkinson’s?
A while ago a doctor offered to prescribe metformin for me for PD. I have just started researching this as a possible alternative to other diabetes drugs. Are any of you taking it for PD off label or for Diabetes? Thank you

Useful write by an unknown lady saved in my system long back and forgotten by me!
This diet is called Low Carbohydrate High Fat or LCHF
diet
. You can quickly say good bye to
diabetes
if you also combine intermittent fasting with this
diet
. If you are shocked with the very concept of ‘fasting’, you need not be. Fasting periodically is extremely good for health.

Gestational diabetes test at 36wks
Just had a phonecall from midwife requesting i go for a glucose blood test due to my BMI being 31. I haven't been weighed since 24wks but all my fundal height measurements have been big and no concern shown or growth scans organised. I am not anxious and worried that If i have GD and its only just

Low or very low protein diets. If you've no uremia, will you obtain any benefit?
I had uremia at CKD3a/b (uremia =higher levels of urea than there ought to be present in your blood). I was at 13.5 when the normal range is 2.5 to 7.8 (thankfully, I'm now at 6.4 due to diet). Because I had uremia at CKD 3a/b, I assumed everyone else would have some sort of uremia at CKD 3a/b. When

Exenatide : any non diabetic users? Update from those using for diabetes with PD?
I was just prescribed Exenatide by my neurologist. He has faith in the Exenatide trial and has prescribed it to other patients as well. I’m slim with low blood sugar. Can those who are not diabetic but taking Exenatide please share their experience and knowledge? And any info from those taking it

Over-the-counter protein supplement resulting in impaired thyroxine absorption in a hypothyroid patient
There are so many products - foods and supplements - very often heavily promoted or "fashionable", about which we do not know enough. This example should not be a surprise as it is known that dairy can interfere with levothyroxine. Nonetheless good to see it being reported. Endocrinol Diabetes
