Pmr question about diet?
Curious what results pmr sufferers have had with trying gluten free diets? Or any other specific diet modifications.

Alpha-synuclein-induced mitochondrial dysfunction is mediated via a sirtuin 3-dependent pathway 2020 (Honokiol)
More positive info on Honokiol: Alpha-synuclein-induced mitochondrial dysfunction is mediated via a sirtuin 3-dependent pathway https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6956494/ So this paper is all about activating Sirt 3 to decrease alpha synuclean: "Together, our findings suggest that pharmacologically

Has anyone cracked the code? How to loose weight??
Still trying to get things under control.. But how DO we loose weight as Hypothyroid? - Should we stay away from certain types of exercise? (Cardio, weights, HIIT, walking, etc?) - Many said Keto may not be great… is low carb ok? On Keto I would stay within 30-40g of carbs a day which is more low carb

Test Results after discussion on here
Hi folks, hot of the press so to speak and on the attached screenshot. The doctor's comments are below this message. They are not what I was expecting, especially as I inject B12 1mg only once a month, but data analysis works more than one way and unless I'm reading it wrongly, I can cancel out any sort

Does taking Levothyroxine long term cause havoc with High Cholesterol and High Blood Sugar?

Keto/low carb for Hashimoto’s Hypothyroid
So I’ve been seeing conflicting info online about whether low carb is the right way to lose weight when hypo. Some websites are saying keto causes too much acidity leading to increased inflammation (which we already have too much of) and too little insulin impairs the body’s ability to convert T4 to

DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE TAKING METFORMIN AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE
I AM A 66-year old female who was in top condition 18 months ago. It was a year before I received the PMR diagnosis and it's been 12 weeks since I've been on prednisone. I've tried to have a good attitude about the pred and to throw all my energy into my health and minimizing its side effects. I've

Another Medichecks set of results for your expertise please as my brain fog can't make sense of them.
My TSH results through my GP swing from 0.03 mu/L to 8 mu/L over the years and back. In November 21 result was 0.0 mu/L and I was on 150/125 Levothyroxine alternate days. GP decided I should reduce dosage and put me down to 125 mg and retested in January when it came back as 0.1 mu/L so reduced me again

Low Carb on Prednisone for weight loss
Hi all, I hope this isn't a daft question. I've put on just over 1st while taking prednisone, luckily I'm now down to 3mg and doing OK. I understand the best way to lose the weight is by cutting my carb intake. Obviously, starting with processed cakes, biscuits, chocolate etc. But where I'm getting

B12 and brain fog?
I don't post very often as it has seemed up until now that my 1mg, self-administered monthly B12 injection seems to have been enough. My recent health has though taken a nosedive with ridiculous weight gain and increasing brain fog: I'm nearly 20 stone (127kg or 280lbs) now having been a manageable

Brain fog, other symptoms, dosage, B12 deficiency and testing?
I don't post very often as having had the radioiodine treatment for hyperthyroidism, I thought that my position was now permanent and I only needed the annual thyroid function tests my doctor (new this year) takes every year. I may still do. My recent health has though taken a nosedive with ridiculous
