Thanks to everybody who took the time to reply to my Gluten Ataxia post some very interesting and educational points.

I have SCA 6 and EA type unknown it was just having attacks at the same time every day after evening meal a part of me thought it might be something to do with Gluten so from yesterday put myself on a Gluten free diet, nothing to loose me thinks 😊.

I love this website it’s like having 2000 Neurologists as your friends 🥸.

Take care all and be happy.

Hi Paul sorry to hear you’ve been struggling lately. I recon I’m in the same boat I’ve been on omerprozole 40mg a day for two years after I was struggling to swallow food it would sort of get stuck. I was sent for an endoscopy and they found a 4 cm sliding Hiatus hernia not sure weather this in any way related to CA but I struggle to swallow food which is annoying because I like my nosh.

After reading your recent post I totally agree with you that the information that the amazing folks put in this site is invaluable m. So thanks.

I hope you find going gluten free helps. I did this a long time ago.

I joined Coeliac UK because I didn't know where to start coeliac.org.uk

There is also a section on Health unlocked called Gluten Free Guerrillas ... lots of good advice there.

Just so you know it takes 12-18 months for a. Gluten free diet to have an affect, per Professor Hadjivassiliou at Sheffield Ataxia Centre.
