Researching Thyroid Promoting Nutrition/Food Intolerance and Weight Gain
Hi Friends How do you feel generally about treating your Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism through change of diet - research into thyroid promoting foodstuffs, rather than go down the medical route? If you have done this how are your symptoms now? I would love to hear from you. I went vegetarian for 15 years

Eggs
In my recent post on 'Meat', I included two studies by Erin Richman. Those studies also looked at eggs. A natural response to those studies might be to stop eating eggs. I think that a little perspective is called for. In the Health Professionals Follow-up Study [1]: "Men who consumed 2.5 or more

Mirena Coil
Hi all After 4 years of being advised to get the Mirena coil fitted (to help ease Endo pain and for contraception) I finally went and got it this morning. I was very nervous but the nurses were so lovely, informative, supportive and sympathetic. It was definitely "uncomfortable" during the insertion,

Diabetes & PCa "protection".
New study below. This post follows on from a Yahoo thread, where I suggested that burnout of the beta cells in the pacreas is responsible for reduced risk of PCa in diabetics. "Persons with type 1 diabetes were identified from five nationwide diabetes registers: Australia (2000-2008), Denmark (1995

Elevated A1c and glucose
I continue to be taking Prednisone 40mg for GCA/PMR. I had fasting lab tests last week. May A1c was 6.7%. The estimated average glucose was 146mg/dL. This is the highest my glucose has ever been. I sent an e-mail to my Primary care doctor this morning. I know that Prednisone can increase the glucose.

Liver disease and brain fog.
Despite being frequently dismissed as a vague, unimportant complaint, brain fog is one of the more common symptoms of chronic liver disease. This is likely due to liver disease’s tendency to impair energy production and blood detoxification. Detoxification – One of the liver’s most vital responsibilities

Diet
Here's a post that derives from a chat I was having with MikePollard. I am forwarding it here for us all to read and comment and benefit: Given that diet increasingly is implicated in a range of modern diseases - heart disease, T2 diabetes, Alzheimer's, cancer etc: https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid

Glucose Levels
I had blood work done for other reasons but my fasting glucose level was 129. Everything I have read says that is not good. I do get sick if I eat anything sugary. ie, lightheaded, nausea, heart pounding. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Debra

What do you make of my recent blood work?
Hi Folks! I am self-medicating with NDT (from Thailand) purchased on-line, as where I live they only prescribe T4. I had been on Armour for a number of years and then on T3 alone and then nothing for a year and had weight gain and other symptoms. These are my recent labs: FT4 23.3 FT3 10.8 TSH <
