Mirena & Depo Provera ???
Following my laparoscopy and diagnosis of endometriosis at the end of July it has been suggested that I have the
Depo
provera
injection on top of the mirena coil I already have. This is to try and reduce / stop the irregular bleeding.

Long waiting time for gynae
Hello everyone, To cut a long story short, this morning I have been told i won't be seen by gynae at my local hospital until at least august 2016. The current waiting list is 11 months. I have been off work with excruciating abdominal pain which my GP suspects is related to endo. Having seen my GP yesterday

Hip pain
Since I was on provera some of my symptoms eased but as I have been took off them the pain is so unbearable! I have pain in my hips / groin area and my lower back and can't even have a wee without it hurting so much. Codeine isn't touching it. I'm not at consultant until mid November. Does anyone else

Methotrexate-dilemma
On Monday I had my first appointment with a rheumatologist. I was counting down the days and hours the previous week as I have been in absolute agony with all the pains in my body. My hands and fingers have been so bad over the last few weeks I have been out of my mind with pain. I first became ill

Copper coil... Maybe?
In the past I have been on numerous different contraceptive pills, the implant, the
depo
provera
injection and the mirena coil, all of which have not been suitable.

Zoladex depression
Also, after Zoladex my sister went on the
Depo
Provera
shot and this was highly effective at combating her endometriosis pain, and so I think this might be considered as my next step. Is depression a common side effect of Depo also?

Hello, I'm 20 and have been suffering with endo since I was 14 years old. After a while and failed attempts with the pill, I was given a laparoscopy but was told that it probably wasn't endo as I was too young. As you can probably guess, it was and the consultant removed all she could find- endo was

Thanks to all who replied to my post re Mirena coil & heavy menstrual bleeding....
Thank you all for your replies, which I found very helpful. It turns out that my coil must have dislodged and become ineffective, hence the heavy bleeding, and then was expelled in a giant clot. I've been kept in hospital for the past 2/3 days and have now been released with Provera and Mefanamic acid

Provera
Hello ladies, I've been on provera now for about 3 weeks. I ended up having a blood test Saturday as they thought I may have a blood clot from it. I don't but my legs are swollen and the slightest brush of clothes against them feels pretty painful. My doctor said its not an uncommon reaction and to

Hi I'm new to all this and I've just discovered you wonderful people, I'm a complicated case so any advice would be marvellous!
Since then I've been on the
depo
provera
, which I do not bleed on at all! It's magical! However the dull ache remained. I fell pregnant and had a beautiful baby girl but since having her 2 years ago the pain has become unbearable. I was diagnosed with moderate endometriosis back in Feb this year.

Petition to FDA Seeks HIV Warning Label on Birth Control
The current label states that
Depo

Provera
doesn’t protect from HIV. It does not mention an association with an increased risk of the virus.
