BBC2's Horizon 9pm last night was about dopamine overload in the brain and the use of anti-psychotic drugs to reduce it.
After watching this I'm wondering If this means that RLS sufferers should avoid anti-psychotics? I was put on Motivil (spelling maybe wrong) for suspected IBS, at the time when my RLS was getting worse around 10 years ago whilst on a low dose of pramipexole. I only took the Motivil for a couple of weeks

Holiday from dopamine agonist
I have had RLS for 15 years. Has severe augmentation on Pramipexole. Tried all the opiates and could not take them. I'm now on Neupro patch 1mg and Gabapentin 300mg at bedtime. Also just started Klonopin o.5mg at night. I have read that some of you take a holiday from the dopamine agonist in order to

Seroquel question
Hi all. I'm new here. This is my first post. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's over a year ago and am not on any medication. A few months ago I started having visual hallucinations. My doctor prescribed Seroquel. I can't quite follow the logic. Maybe I've got it all wrong, but if Seroquel is a dopamine

Risk of long-term levodopa/carbidopa side effects
I recently came across an article produced by the Cleveland Clinic which was an eye-opener. It said "While Sinemet is the most effective medicine and has the least short-term side effects, it is associated with high risks of long-term side effects, such as involuntary movements (dyskinesia). Coming off Pramipexole
Hi! I am trying to come off Pramipexole because of augmentation. I am down to one 0.088mg tablet per day now. My question is, when I get the dopamine out of my system, will my rls revert to how it was before I started taking the medication i.e. Not nearly as severe? Also how long does it take to get

Try, Try and Tru again
I smoked cigarettes for 15 years then stopped and started dipping (Not good trading one evil for another). I tried to quit dipping and ended up smoking cigars (another failure). I haven't given up hope and I am trying again to go cold turkey. I am curious how to keep my dopamine levels high naturally

Thanks for nothing C5
Still very angry about the so called Chanel 5 documentary. I sat down with my husband full of expectation that it would explore this debilitating condition and help those trying to support those affected by it to understand it better. What a load of rubbish it was, what were we presented with, A woman
