Funny thoughts. . .
I've always joked that our universe must maintain some sort of constant state. For example, someone losses weight, someone has to gain it. . . So what about our dopamine? What culprit is running around with all of our dopamine? I've got my eyes open for clues. . . .

Yesterday & Tomorrow
All fellow travelers on this boat called Parkinson's we have written in stone in our memory and soul a date: the day of diagnosis. That day changed everything. There is a before and after in our lives on that day. The person who entered the office of the neurologist only looks like that one who

I wanna new Drug (one that won't make me sick)
You said it Huey; one that won't make me crash my car or make me feel three feet thick. Sounds like Mr. Lewis had some knowledge of Parkinson's drugs. MIRAPEX a nonergot dopamine agonist, was the first drug prescribed for me.Side effects include: extreme drowsiness, falling asleep suddenly, even

Questions and Answers
He still wants me off
Depakine
(Depakote), but he agrees that will take time, but I have to keep trying. I also was worried about my sleeping (or not sleeping), heart rate, etc. But he told me not to worry about that. It's all in the game. I wrote in his email about a IBZM scan.

A New - Old Drug That Is Making a Major Difference for Me
I have long been convinced that there are nuggets of gold buried in the massive accumulation of 40 years of research that has built up since Ldopa took the stage. Common sense tells me that it is not possible for such a huge amount of data spread over several disciplines to build up without overlooking

For the baby boomers-Do you think recreational drug use in the 60s.70s contributed to PD?
During the late 1970s, a controversial program sponsored by the US government sprayed paraquat on marijuana fields in Mexico.Since much of this marijuana was subsequently smoked by Americans, the US government's "Paraquat Pot" program stirred much debate. Perhaps in an attempt to deter people from using

??I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike??
The Spirit of Freddy Mercury must have been singing in the ear of Cleveland Clinic biomedical engineer, Jay Alberts, PhD. During Tandem ride across Iowa, Dr. Alberts pedaled the lead position on a tandem bicycle with a woman with Parkinson's disease. Before the ride, the woman was suffering from hand

Imagine for a moment
Imagine for a moment that you are under fifty, healthy, vital and one day your thumb starts to twitch. It's annoying but tolerable, It only twitches when your hands are completely at rest so you ignore it.Six months later your little finger starts to twitch too. Suddenly your hand seems to have a mind
