New insights into addictive behaviour caused by dopamine replacement therapy
"They created a kind of wiring map of the brain and found that those who had negative behavioural reactions to the medication had one of two things in common. 'We took circuits in the brain that we know have underlying important behaviours and two of those behaviours are choosing and stopping

Low dose aspirin?
Not sure if anyone had seen this study, but wanted to post it just in case - "Aspirin: Barking up the right tree?" which presents a study on mice which may not translate to the same results in humans, however conclusion was very intriguing: "Recently researchers have found that low doses of the pain

Been on Elvanse (Vyvanse) for nearly three months, about to switch to Concerta XL for a trial...
Hi there (new here!) Have been on Elvanse for three months now - slowly titrating up from 20mg to maximum dose of 70mg. It stays in my system comfortably for at least 10 hours, and the main indication I have that it's wearing off is my RLS starts up! No major crash like some have described with other

MY STORY sad but true
At 4:00 today I had my appointment with Dr. Berkowski at the University of Michigan . I saw him until 6:00 and I just got home at 9:00. I am exhausted and I really don't know how I feel yet. Apparently my brain doesn't absorb iron as it should. Years ago I became anemic and developed RLS and was

Dopamine vs Dopamine agonist. May someone explain the technical mechanism of action in the brain? Pros/Cons of these therapy methods?
Effectiveness of each method and how it compares. What about side effects? Which one is less harmful?

On/Off period caused by Sinemet. Anyone taking dopamine agonist and/or MAO inhibitors experience on/offs?
I found in the web an interesting info about a disclaimer contained in the package insert of Sinemet distributed in Australia. It warns as a “side effect the on/off periods may occur to some people after one year use where people may lose their ability to move from minutes to hours then can move again

The Safety of Being a Social Smoker

Dopamine agonist withdrawal
Hello to all, I am looking for advice, support and somewhere to whine. I wrote before as I have got off a daily dose of SR pramipexole .75 mg and 1 tab sinemet 100/25. I took 6 weeks to do it . My dr wanted me to do it more quickly but I did not, having struggled through the whole misery once before
