This is my first post. I have found the information here really helpful. I was told 6 weeks ago my blood test showed a very low b12 level of 109 and i was likely to have Pernicious anemia. Because of neuro issues they told me injections every other day and if needed to continue until I improve then every

Ketamine?
Levodopa, a standard Parkinson’s therapy, is a precursor molecule that is converted to dopamine in the brain. It is well-known for controlling Parkinson’s disease symptoms such as rigidity and slowness of movement. However, prolonged use of levodopa may result in spontaneous involuntary movements

Augmentation with DAs in RLS but what about Parkinson's - A question I've pondered...
Hi all RLS sufferers who like to ponder.... Auldreekie18's post raises an interesting question which I have pondered lately. If one suffers from RLS and has taken dopamine agonists in the past with augmentation setting in- then develop Parkinson's, I wonder what the treatment for Parkinson's will be

Detox from Neupro
All, After 6 years of a Neupro patch (at 6mg) and 7 years before that of taking Mirapex, I am on day 13 of full detox, It took 30 days to taper down to zero Neupro, but I made it. I also was detoxing off of 100 mg of Trazodone, which I had been taking since before I started Mirapex. This detox process

Is it important to keep an eye on copper/zinc levels if you take iron supplements
This is interesting to me as copper is so important in so many functions of the body. I always feel if we work on increasing the levels of one particular nutrient in the body we must keep an eye on the balance of the others. "What can cause a copper deficiency? Copper deficiency can be acquired or

How did we arrive at Disease?
I’ve often wondered how I ended up with Parkinson’s. Well the advent of Cov-vid may have inadvertently shed a light on this question. I began reading anecdotal reports, and articles saying that some people getting the cov-vid shot were experiencing a metallic taste in their mouth immediately following

Call for a more complete vitamins blood testing, especially b6.
I would have preferred to write about my coping with PD at a later stage, but in view of recent events I would like to warn you about the possible consequences of incomplete examination. Teaching money habits
My 12 year old was diagnosed with ADHD hyperactivity last year and he’s on methylphenidate during the school day. He is really organized and gets straight A’s in school but struggles with math. His main struggles are impulsivity and constantly being on the go. He talks a lot, moves a lot, eats a lot

New to ropinirole
My first time at a new neurologist. He started me on ropinirole 0.25mg 1/day at 7pm. I take 600mg gabapentin at 5pm and 9pm. He convinced me that I don't have CMT but have RLS. My feet are rather numb, and my ankles and shins hurt occasionally. I believe this is peripheral neuropathy, but he did not

A question about ashwagandha?
I was looking up this herb for interactions on the pharmacuetical database I subscribe to and read the following. I am concerned about any herb that could suppress dopamine, does the statement below mean that dopamine is also reduced which is not good effect for PD? I know many folks with and without

Role of the adrenals in my tremor and dopamine deficiency
I am wondering if I am alone in being aware of the connection between my adrenals and my dopamine deficiency and resulting tremors. I’d appreciate all feedback, whether academic or incidental. Firstly, I definitely have a dopamine deficiency because my dexterity can return to perfect for the small windows

Anyone want to share their story about going undiagnosed with ADHD until adulthood?
I'm in my 30s and was just diagnosed a couple months ago. I was going through a tough time a while back and I didn't know what was wrong. I was craving sugar like a fiend and completely lost my appetite. I spent days googling what may be the problem. I randomly stumbled across an article about how the

ADHD career advice
After working in property management for 15 years I decided to quit and become a stay at home mom. I felt overwhelmed trying to run a house, kids, marriage, and career so I quit my job. Now at home I am restless so I started taking college classes to help with the lack of dopamine. However I'm not

Pioneering stem-cell trials in Japan report promising early results
Professor Jun Takahashi is involved in one trial expected to report results soon, in which researchers used donor-derived iPS cells to generate neurons that produce dopamine.
